Commercial Description:
Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brussels’ great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

This poured an amberish red color with a medium white head. It had a nice aroma of citrus fruits, sweet malts, and candy sugar. The flavor on this was very nice with the fruits and malts coming through with some yeasty flavors in the background. The spices were pretty minimal as the fruity malts dominate the flavor. This was medium bodied with good carbonation that finished smooth with a sweet aftertaste. This one was pretty good and very easy to drink.

(750 ml bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/augusta/lou’s-beverage-barn/4790.htm target=blank>Lou’s Beverage Barn) Pours cloudy rusty amber with two fingers of biege head. Aroma of fruits, light red wine and spices and mild rock candy. Mouthfeel is medium-full, fairly soft but hefty, moderately carbonated. Pleasant malty, fruity taste with notes of red wine, yeast, rock candy and spice. Very nice, easy to drink Belgian.

750mL bottle, Rare Vos glass. . Amber colored pour. Light tan , creamy textured head. Excellent pour. The nose is spicy, malty, and bit of yeasty musty smells. Flavor is of malt with a bit of acidity in it, just like in a strawberry. Just right. Very balanced. I really enjoy great Belgian Session beers! This one is nice and complex with the flavors.

Bottle-Memphis. An cream colored head that is sustained throughout the life of the beer. Yeasty aroma with some acidic pop on the tongue. A good session beer but I was expecting more layers of malt character.

12 oz bottle. This one pours a mean head and has a fruity nose. Taste is good - somewhat spicey and malty.

12 oz. bottle from Plaza Liquor - Pours a hazy amber color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Lively carbonation. Very light lacing. Aroma is spicy esters and light malt. Again, flavor is full of esters and a light malt background. The spiciness of the beer lingers on the palate in a good way. Medium body. A good beer.
