NJBeerman013 (768), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Nov 23, 2007 750 ml. bottle. This is probably one of the best lighter belgian ales I have had. Light amber in color with a frothy head. The aroma is a bit yeasty with a bit of citrus. The flavors are very malty and fruity. A very well rounded Belgie. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Nov 22, 2007 Tasted 11/22/07. 750ml bottle. Remnants of Thanksgiving dinner. Hazy sedimented amber hue. Off white head. Musty citrus aromas. Touch bready, touch spicy. Medium bodied with solid malt backbone and a spicy peppery yeasty flavor. Rounded and smooth. Only a slight astringency from the effervescence. Good tingling flavor. Great yeasty note combined and flowing into the hop finish. Nice melding caramel malt flavor. Still one of the best domestic breweries making Belgian styles! bonbright7 (173), Bellport, New York, USA Nov 21, 2007 Tap. The distinct red amber ale tasted great to me with Belgian Frites. The malty elements seemed different with every taste and I enjoyed the subtle fruit of it. hombrepalo (745), Chicago, Illinois, USA Nov 19, 2007 Tap, poured very dark amber color, very light cloudy head. Sweet aroma of malts and fruits. Flat in carbonation with a bite at the end. Smooth but too smooth, went down like water... An ok beer. DeadGuyFrank (347), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Nov 14, 2007 What a great beer! Fruity malt with a wonderful yeast flavor throughout, it pours a beautiful amber with a slight cloud in a glass. A awesome everyday beer with complexity and sophistication. A real treat! jhumphries69 (717), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Nov 4, 2007 Draft. Pours a reddish amber tinted with orange and brown, a little bit cloudy, and with a thin off-white head. The aroma was sweet, malty, fruity, and spicy - notes of raisin bread and cinnamon apples. The flavor follows the aroma: cinnamon apples. There are also soft, peppery notes that balance the sweetness. The middle of the tongue picks up a subtle acidity that is refreshing - like the small squeeze of fresh lemon juice one might add to seafood to "brighten" up the flavor. This touch of tartness goes well with the malt flavors and the spices. The finish is short and somewhat dry, with a gentle dose of peppery hops to balance the whole experience. The mouthfeel was tingly with carbonation - and turned creamy after swishing around in the mouth. A very decent abbey-style ale. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Oct 21, 2007 12 ounce bottle in Duvel glass. Hazy amber with dense half-inch head and some lace. Mild fruity aroma with faint hop and faint alcohol. Very fruity flavor (peachy) with mild spice and mild tobacco bitterness. Very clean finish. Medium-light body, medium high carbonation. Refreshing and subtle but not much flavor overall. Pleasant but not outstanding. andyhite (290), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Oct 17, 2007 12 oz. pours amber...what a surprise...aromas of fruit, perhaps dark fruits, nothing in particular though. sugar, and...MALTS! taste? rich, creamy, fruity. it’s simple. as to the mouthfeel? it’s smooth. hits the palate in the three big areas. finish is smooth. try this ale. it’s rather tasty and satisfying.
