3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle pour. Pours a dark cloudy orange color with a big foam head. Very sweet fruit and berry like aroma. A little cherry. A ton of carbonation in this one. Fizzy fruit flavor with a more smooth sweet belgian yeast finish. Interesting beer that lied outside of my expectations. Enjoyed this.

From bottle into a tulip glass. Full, frothy head. Reddish copper appearance. Light and fruity (rose hips?). Reminds me of rooibos tea. Excellent with Indian cuisine.

On tap, cloudy amber body with long-lasting thick white head. Malty caramel aroma with some floral aspects. Earthy doughy taste with a nutty sweetness. Somewhat spicy finish, but generally smooth and well-balanced.

Too much carb and yeast spiciness for my palate. Could be smoother. I’m not a big fan of the really fruity notes in this Belgian.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Chesapeake, VA. Dark orange pour with a frothy nearly white head. Aroma of light citrus, mild Belgian yeast, and hay. Taste offers mostly fruity flavors of orange and lemon zest with doses of spiciness and bread for good measure. A very well done, and for me often overlooked, Belgian-style ale.

Less than half of a 25.4 oz. bottle, consumed on 10-31-14. Pours a hazy, cloudy, light amber with much suspended particulate as well as sediment. Small to moderate amount of cream/beige head. Looks good. Nice, tart, malty smell features scents of caramel, taffie, seawater, cinnamon, and cinnamon chewing gum. Pleasant aroma. Nice, umami, fruity taste. Bitter finish. Malty with flavors of caramel, whole wheat bread, and a touch of cinnamon. Frothy in the palate. Medium body. A solid and likable beer overall.
