COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brussels’ great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

Bottle - big foamy head, hazy dark orange color, fruity Belg yeast aroma and flavor, fairly hoppy dry finish - very good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2014 http://imgur.com/Vo10DP5 - Bottle. Pours hazy orange with fluffy, off white head. Smells of clove and banana, characteristic of a belgian yeast. Drinks smoothly with mild lingering hop bitterness. Light bodied. Tastes of bread, esthers characteristic of a belgian strain, and citrus. Disappointed in the mouthfeel. Solid.

Very cloudy, amber color. The head starts off well but recedes to a single layer. Leaves impressive lace on the glass. There’s an element of American pale ale smell to this beer. There is a distinct aroma of hops. The Belgian yeast is the key taste here. Relatively thin with a very high level of carbonation. The hop flavor only shows up at the end. The alcohol is noticeable but not overwhelming.

Possibly my favorite beer available. As someone who lives near the brewery and has been there, my appreciation for Ommegang beers are deeper. For me, as soon as I sip I immediately get hit with a very hoppy taste, nice and floral. The palate is simply great. Hoppy and sweet at the same time. I just love everything about Rare Vos, more so than any of Ommegang’s other great beer.

Gentle spiciness in both aroma and taste. Quite a sweet base, nearly saccharine. Great US version of a Belgian amber

750ml caged and corked poured into a large ommegang stemmed glass. Pours a brown amber syrup with faint cherry highlights. Head is large and rises fast, then settles with ample lacing and a 3cm ring round the glass with islands. Aroma is dark fruit, oak, ripe cherry, and amber spices. Taste is smooth flowing amber malts with substanial fruit guidance, cheeries, plum, strawberry, and figs. Carbination is lively and adds a nice bounce to the endulgence while sipping, fruity and delicious. Theres a mild dryness in the aftertaste which is then complemented by the malts and ample dried fruity presence. A beautiful beer, refreshing, easy drinking and well crafted.

On tap. Great beer. The lacing on the glass after I drank it was interesting. The taste was an amber through and through. Very easy to drink and wonderful

Belgium pale ale like with an amber malt body. Extremely drinkable with great taste. Light palate. Great addition to their impressive line of beers.
