Poured a thin looking reddish/amber with a huge fizzy off white head. Aroma of yeast, vinegar, spoiled fruit and slight malt. Palate is light with an average amount of carbonation. Flavor is acidic with a quickly disipating aftertaste. Not the best effort from Ommegang. milewide (609), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Lovely ruddy amber color. Huge, fluffy beige head that slowly subsides, lacing all the way down the glass. The smell is mild citrus, apple, yeast and grain. Fruity and sweet, while tart at the same time. Finishes with light hop bitterness, belgian yeast spiciness, and a hint of alcohol. Last few sips seemed to lose their flavor as they warmed. Lots of carbonation. Tasty, but you could do better for the price. TheJester (702), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 14, 2007 750 mL bottle. Translucent amber-brown with a small head. Aroma of grasses, sweet citrus, spice, and maybe yeast(?). Flavour is a bit on the sweet side, but it’s smooth. Sweet citrus and spice carries through to the flavour, along with candi sugar and some bready malt. Little hops or alcohol presence. Smooth, but quite heavily carbonated. Quite drinkable. Worth another try. cbeers21 (564), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 13, 2007 Clear amber/red with sizeable head. Yeasty fruity malts, and wheaty apple, caramel scents build a solid aroma. Body is lighter and a bit acidic. Yeasty, a bit sour and wheaty, this brew provides a quiet fruity body with a muted, distant and lingering spice quality. It smelled a bit better than it tasted, and it fell a bit flat in the finish. Still a pretty good brew Goodgrief (1149), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 11, 2007 Those Ommegang guys know how to make a beer. This is my least favorite among the Ommegang’s offerings, but still a good beer. Light brown color with HUGE foamy head that lasted throughout. Belgian yeasty taste with a little fruity zing to JamesD (194), Centreville, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Very lovely yeasty, hoppy aroma and a wonderful copper color. The flavor is malty and fruity with a hoppy and subtly spicy aftertaste. Light and refreshing with just enough carbonation. nramsburg (200), New York, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 8, 2007 This is a nice beer, but hardly fantastic. Yeasty, but not too much on the mouth. Somewhat tart but also carmelly. In relation to Three Philosophers and Hennepin, I find this somewhat of a letdown.
