Commercial Description:
Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brussels’ great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

Poured golden red with lots of lacing. Good head followed the rush of carbonation and smelled of fruity malt. Tastes like a maltier belgian.

pours a nutty light brown in color with a nicely carbonated head. has a slight haze in the light, smell is flowery yeast, sweet apples, mild spice. well carbonated, good balance sweet at first but becomes more malty, spicy yeasts came out as it warmed. good beer from a ny. brewery.

Good reddish-golden hue with nice big white head. Nose is sweet yeasty, biscuty. Mouthfeel is light bodied...maybe a bit carbonated for me. Good malt and hops balance with crisp finish. Enjoyed it more when it was cooler (53-57 degrees) than warmer (even more carbonated).

Pours a nice, golden red color with an off-white head. Aroma is spicy, and taste is very smooth with a nice hint of spices and fruits such as plum. Good, solid beer.

Pours dark reddish amber with a thin, mostly maintained light tan head. Aroma of phenolic apple and spice, with notes of toffee plums and dates. Taste is sweet and yeasty with prominent phenols creating notes of clove. Notes of plum, spice, and gingerbread. Mouthfeel is full bodied, slightly sticky with lively carbonation. Improving this beer would require better attenuation and more esters.

(750mL bottle): Pours a cloudy brown color, small whitish head, fizzy but diminishing very quickly. Very floral light sweet aroma. Sweet fizzy taste, clean aftertaste. Floral taste, some acid. Warming up....a little more even taste, not acidic.
