Aroma was light, hard to detect, I wish it was stronger. Flavor was of hops, malt, yeast, pears, and apples. Somewhat carbonated, maybe too carbonated, the palate was crisp and mellow at the same time. The finish was a little bitter from the hops. tomthompson89 (1474), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 16, 2007 The more Brewery Ommegang beer’s I taste the more impressed I am with them. Rare Vos is classified as a Belgian Style Amber Ale. It pours a very cloudy yellow with a long lasting really big head. It exhibits a fruity somewhat hoppy aroma and the taste is much the same. While it is much lighter then most Belgian ales, it still has enough body to be very satisfying.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 14, 2007 Pours a golden orange with a large wite head. Aroma is sweet, homey, lemon, juniper(?), burlap, fresh hay, and woody notes. Flavor is at first tart, somewhat sour, giving way to lemon, bananas, all-spice, cinnamon, a wheat note, and a long, dry grassy finish. Complex despite it’s more simple character. Very nice pairing for chicken marsala. michael-pollack (2661), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 7, 2007 750ml: Moderately sweet aroma of spice, coriander, hops, and fruit. Poured an ugly light brown/orange/amber in color with a big, foamy, off-white head that shrank but lasted throughout. Good lacing. Hazy and sparkling. Tastes medium sweet to start, but gets more sour in the finish. Tastes of wood, yeast, allspice, and some hops. Medium body. Smooth texture turns sticky. Dry, yeasty finish is sour compared to the sweet body. Lively carbonation. Overall, easy-drinking, but an unimpressive flavor. I’m unlikely to have this one again. Aroma is of citrus, lemon, banana, yeast, and a slight floral hop aroma. Flavor was not quite as good as the aroma but still not bad. Flavor starts off with the citrus and lemon that gives way to the yeast and banana flavors. sliffy (1967), Columbus, Ohio, USA
