750 ml bottle purchased at the Brewery 8 Aug 2011. Used a snifter. Let stand for 10 minutes. Slow tilted pour still produced large thick, full, bubbly head. Well carbonated. Color is amber with a slight orange hue. Lots of lace covers on the way down the glass. Nose is very fruity with plenty of Belgian yeast and spice. Taste is spot on for the style. Lots of bread, yeast, sweet malts, spices. A touch of candy sugar. Mouthfeel is creamy with a touch of floral bitterness. Medium bodied. Well-made brew, very drinkable.

750ml bottle pours into a tulip glass with an amber color and a near white head. The aromas are spicy, bready, and a bit of malt. Taste is fruity...banana and plum, maybe, with some great bready notes. Hops bring in a nice bitterness that works well, very present, but not overpowering. Really a nice balance to the sweetness, with those hops. Overall, another standout beer from a great brewery.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

I’m a big fan of Ommegang and I hadn’t had the Rare Vos before. This was a fantastic Belgian style ale. There’s a lot going on flavorwise and it’s a perfect beer to enjoy on its own just to savor the taste.

Bottle from MyBrewerytap.com. Pours almost clear amber with a small white head. Aroma of yeast, fruits and malts. The taste is almost the same , nice fresh hoppy start, supported by a good malty base. Very lively carbonated. A good beer indeed!
