COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brussels’ great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

750ml - Pours a darkish cloudy amber in color with a big frothy whitish head that fades to creamy topping that lasts. Aroma is of Belgian yeast with some hops. Flavor is bitter with nice Belgian hops flavor. Finish is medium bitter and lasts small amount of time... medium clean finish. Really good beer...

Cloudy, pale orange, good head. Spicy orange aroma, though it loses the sweetness in that taste -- coming through more as grapefruit. Not bad.

Very nice! Yeast comes out and if you can try to turn this upside down then let it sit for a few more days to dissolve the yeast more! Great heat with light head. Tasty!

Cellared bottle from November 2010. Popping the cork, this brew has a fine aroma akin to champagne, white wine and yellow apples. Pouring with a fluffy off-white head that fizzles down to a thin lace, this beer has a mostly wet palate paired with a slight stinging aftertaste. This is a juicy and quenching malty beer with no discerning hop flavor, but the flavors include banana, spice, coffee cake and cinnamon. Really tasty beer.

750ml bottle in pint glass. Pours a nice opaque amber. Head is active and about 1cm in size, slowly dissipating, but leaving traces along the glass as it is disturbed. Holding the glass to light shows a vigorous thin stream of bubbles erupting from the bottom. Aroma has that Belgium yeasty smell and is enticing. Flavor is a bit fruity, with a bit of a spicy finish. Mild level of carbonation on the finish. Nice Amber.

Beautiful golden-amber beer with a thick white head and a hazy appearance. Scent is sweet and "yeasty". The malt and hop bitterness seem well balanced and for me combine with the carbonation to give the beer a black pepper-like bite up front. The finish seems sweet and slightly doughy. A nice well rounded beer that’s pleasant and interesting.

On tap at the Gingerman in Ft. Worth. Had this a few times but never rated. Pours amber with a thick head. Fruity aroma with hints of spice. Flavor shows the yeasty character, along with some sweet melon and pear. Creamy finish.

banana, yeasty, cinnamon/all-spice/clove aroma. Very thin head. Decent beer, but not worth the $20 we spent on the bottle. Surprinsgly low alchol.

On tap at Rocky Mountain Pizza in a plastic cup. Pours a deep copper color with a medium, tan head. The aroma is caramel malts, with a lot of fruity esters and spices. Figs, bananas, apples, and cloves. The flavor is very sweet and a little sour. The palate is light to medium, with lively carbonation and just a little astringent. Overall, this is a great beer.
