On draft @ Shakes. Hazy dark golden with large white head. Taste of banana, Belgian yeast and spice. Not a huge fan.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 marv3mania (80) - Lansing, Michigan, USA - JUN 9, 2013
12 oz. bottle poured into a tulip glass. Appearance is a golden amber color with a huge off-white head. Aroma is rich caramel malt and some dark fruits. Taste follows the nose, plus there is the distinct Belgian yeast which Ommegang loves to use. It has a surprisingly light taste, though. It also has a light, crisp feel. Not too bad.

Bottle. Pours with a huge rocky off white head that dissipates leaving an orange glow. The aroma is spicy, fruity, yeasty. Flavor is fairly sweet with light wood and dead yeast bitterness. Watery dry feel. Ok but fairly boring.
3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 tdoyledesign (64) - Michigan, USA - JUN 4, 2013
Pours a beautiful orange with a thin white head. Aroma is almost non existent. Flavor is Belgian ale with a bit too much carbonation for my taste. Decent palate but a bit muted.

Poured from draft into a tall Rare Vos glass at Mead Hall. Great tasting Belgian Ale with heavy notes of banana and clove. Light palate, easy drinking and refreshing.

Fruity aroma typical for style. Slightly sour flavor. Very thin and watery for my taste.

Pint in Alfie’s on 9th Ave, New York on 18 Jan 2013: chalk board called it a ’Belgian style Amber’ with ’Rare Vos’ as an afterthought in brackets.
Belgian style Amber it is though, very drinkable in deed.
Slight cloud within the pour: light amber to dull gold in colour with a thinning white head on top.
The aroma was a mixed bag of smells, yeast, corriander and malts in that order.
The taste followed the smells too: add some grain feel into the blend, this was an easy drinking semi-sweet brew that I took too greatly: couldn’t have another though, too many others to try!
