Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brusselsí great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

12 Oz. Bottle. Poured hazy amber with frothy white head. Aroma of Citrus Fruit Caramel and Yeast. Balanced taste sweet and citrus, very traditional flavor. A nice slight bitterness at the end. Great beer very enjoyable.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. Appearance is opaque orange gold with a fluffy off white head. Aroma is very fruity with spicy notes. Taste is balanced with a slight tilt toward the sweet side and orange notes. Palate is smooth and light. Very good beer, a beauty.

Draft at the Urban Tavern The ale poured a slightly hazy amber with a thick off white head and lacing. This is good looking beer. The strange aroma of cloves and toffee greet you. There is a sweet malty spiciness and the taste cloves continues to the end. The medium body ale had average carbonation. The beer improved the more I drank.

Bottle from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours amber with a thick off-white head and a toffee and fruit aroma. There is a slightly bitter pale malt flavor with a spiced finish and a hint of Belgian yeast esters. Very drinkable and refreshing.

12 oz bottle. Hazy burnt orange color with a huge, thick off-white head. Aroma is spicy, crushed oranges, vanilla, cloves, coriander. Oranges, spices, dried apricot, biscuit, just slight hoppy bitterness. Ends quite yeasty and soapy.

Bottle into a tulip glass. Pours a golden amber, with a moderate beige head that leaves good lacing. Nose is light roast malt and some Belgian yeast notes. Taste is malty, but not too sweet, with a smooth finish. Pretty good.

Bottle at Evernote. Aromas of spicy yeast esters, flowers, perfume, potpourri, some bready bits. Taste is crisp with some chalkiness on the backend. The flavors hit and hold strongly all the way across the finish...although I didnít care for the intense floral / potpourri parts.

Very good! Reminds me of Orval which is not available where I live. Will drink again and add to beers I like to keep on hand. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft pour is a murky copper with a billowing tan head. Aromas are all Belgian yeast byproducts, mainly banana but also some general fruit. Flavor is pretty similar, maybe a tad too sweet. Thick mouthfeel. Good, easily obtainable Belgianish beer.

Medium bodied light amber-gold color. Tastes of caramel, yeast, light hops....like the typical Belgian Ale. Being from NY and all, may be a little "Americanized" if that makes any sense. Iíve only had maybe a few REAL Belgianís imported from Europe, so hard to tell the true comparison. A good beer that isnít super-expensive. I would buy again if it was the best thing available to me, or if just in the mood for a Belgian without paying $8-$10 a bottle. Also tried this in the 750ml....might have been slightly better than the 12oz.

Interesting mix. This mix is pretty good with malts and hops to have a well balanced product.
