4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20 pottimous (13) - USA - APR 22, 2001
It’s almost as though a weiss beer had been crossed with a Belgian ale. Not such a powerhouse as Duvel - but it’s very sophisticated and has a great aroma.

This brew poured a large, creamy head, but had little to no lacing on the sides of my mug. It had a fruity aroma to it. It drank extremely smooth which is much to my liking. There was no bitterness observed with this brew. I was very impressed with this particular brew and this is one brew that I would enjoy being able to drink for the evening.
4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20 rampmaster (642) - Alden, New York, USA - MAY 9, 2008
This is one “Sly Fox”. It has a beautiful red/ orange amber color with a hazy body. Tiny bubbles form a thick foamy head that has a light tan color. An inviting aroma of sweet floral orange and spices mingle with doughy yeast and malts. On the tongue there is a complex sweet, fruity and spicy character with caramel malts and doughy yeast mixing with dark cherries, spices and orange peel. Hops add some light bitterness and dryness to the finish. The palate is full bodied with just the right amount of carbonation. It is smooth and very drinkable. Outstanding!

Aromas of peaches, oranges, and lemongrass. Translucent amber with orange highlights and an off-white head. Tastes fruity, with juicy stonefruit flavors predominating the palate, while dry, yeasty and hoppy flavors quickly follow. Medium-full bodied and very refreshing with a dry, yeasty, spicey, herbal finish.

A: amber with a light head
S: lost of fruity notes tangerines, oranges, citrus, with some sweet spices
T: has great citrus flavor that is sweet and not so tangy.
M: perfectly carbonated and
O: originally I gave this beer a 3.5 but now its in the high 4s. Beer has refined itself and also my pallet has probably changed as well.

Very good beer, surprised I hadn’t heard of it before. Light, somewhat fruity taste, complex, not overpowering, goes well with food.

This is the best from Ommegang. Bitter, but not too harsh. Hard to find, even near the brewery.
4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 gws57 (1260) - Saint Charles, Illinois, USA - NOV 20, 2008
Found this one bottled at Binny’s in St. Charles, Illinois, and had it on Election Night 2008. Another amazing brew from Ommegang, which does not disappoint. Beautiful bright orange pour with a thick, frothy off-white head, and a dry spicy, citrusy nose. The flavor is typical for a good Belgian: complex, with buttery smoothness, clover honey, orange peel, spice, a bit of banana, bounces in between sweet and dry. Soft spiciness in the finish, and well balanced. For my 1000th, I could have done far, far worse than this excellent brew!
