Commercial Description:
Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brussels’ great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

12 oz bottle. This one pours a mean head and has a fruity nose. Taste is good - somewhat spicey and malty.

Rated 4/9/06: This came across as a nice example of a Belgium Amber, even though I’m relatively new to the style this is a solid beer. Pour was an intense copper with abundant head and lacing, both of which lasted for the entire experience. Constant carbonation is visible. The aroma came across similar to other Belgian styles that I have had, in fact it smelled similar to a saison. I believe it is the yeast that produces this unique aroma and flavor. Somewhat spicy and hoppy, there was a definate presence of sweet malts, perhaps a touch of caramel. The flavor is good although a bit weak in my opinion when compared to the aroma. Malty with nice overtones of spices and fruits, there is a well deserved hop finish in the flavor that is especially nice. Tasty and complex a truly enjoyable beer.

750 mL bottle. Cloudy golden with a fluffy off white head. Slightly over-ripe fruit and yeast aroma. Creamy palate. Smooth apple taste with a note of sweet spice and finishing sweet and slightly sour. As it warms, it takes on some wonderful vanilla and bourbon-like qualities.

(12 oz. bottle) pours a cloudy golden orange with a thick foamy head. this is what a beer should look like. beautiful. sweet light yeast aroma that gives the flavor a bread like quality. perfect amount of malt and bitter hops to balance it out. this is a complex but well balanced beer. nice crisp finish. the only downside was a slight boosey quality halfway into the glass. otherwise, an excellent beer.

750ml bottle. Hazy golden amber with a big white head. Great citrusy aroma with hints of yeast. Sour, but not overwhelming, flavors. Great pairing with a meal.

~Aroma of Yeast, spice, caramel malts, and fruits, apricots. Yeast dominates ~Pours a cloudy orange with small creamy white head. ~Flavor of yeast, sweet malts, fruit, again apricot, slight hoppy spice bitterness. Flavors blend well together. ~Frothy feel. Turns almost foamy when hits mouth. Light medium body. High carbonation. Sweet and spicy finish. Rather dry and easy to digest. ~Great Belgian ale. Enjoyable and easy to drink. Delicious taste and appealing aroma.

Cloudy gold-amber color with a sticky white head. Nice Belgian lacing. Smell is earthy and grassy with yeasty dough, ripe fruit, and spices. Malty and spicy taste, with hints of apple, candi sugar, and grass. Quite dry and well-carbonated. Easy to drink.
