COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rare Vos is flemmish for "Sly Fox," and the name of one of Brussels’ great cafes. It has a sweetly fruity malt character and yeasty spiciness. A fine dose of yeast permits the beer to mature and mellow in the bottle.

Semi hazy amber pour with ample offwhite head. Lovely beldian yeasty lightly fruity nose. Flavor is carbonation, apricots, and very drying on the palate. Almost excessive carbonation pricks the tongue. Velvety in texture. Pretty classic example of belgian style. but I wouldn’t really pick it out again.

Cloudy orange pour with a big white that lasts. Great lacing. Aroma is sweet orange, bread, spice, and dough. Aroma is spicy Belgian yeast with some citrus, banana, and pepper notes. Soft carbonation.

Poured from a bottle into a snifter amber Aroma is spicy fruits. Flavor is banana funk. Caramelized spices. One of the few brews from this brewery I acutally like. Smooth mellow. Delicious!

bottle. brownish-red colour with large large. Aroma of light orange, spice, a little sweet vanilla. Taste is not as smooth as aroma would suggest. Good beer.

12oz bottle imp. by Mondial de la Bière, bb04/2015. Pours a clean, crisp orange-acajou. Suavely spiced, yet slightly too "clean" pale ale nose, coriander corns, dried orange peel. Missing some yeast-creaminess and organic yeast esters in taste that were not added by the spiced grains: orchard fruits are there, although more like essences on top of a very clean, Us-bitter pale ale, rather than coming from inside the rustic malt bill of a Belgian amber ale converted by hard-working yeast with a will of its own. Somehow not malt-sweet enough. The ethereal, near-air freshener spiciness gave me a slight headache...
