3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 25, 2013 750ml Bottle. The pour was a hazy dark amber with a large (2-3 finger) off-white creamy head that was mostly lasting and had good lacing.
The aroma was of straw malts, citrus hops and an earthy Belgian yeast with notes of banana, caramel, coriander and dark fruit (raisons and prunes).
The taste was lightly bitter with a hint of fruit and spices in the beginning with the finish being a tad bitter with a slight sweet malty flavor and a touch of caramel, maybe honey and very light citrus peel bitterness at the end. Flavor lasted an average time with a lightly sweet fruitiness pretty much left to lying on the taste buds after all else faded away.
Mouthfeel was medium in body and creamy in texture with a nice soft carbonation.
Overall I thought this beer was exquisitely tasty and quite well balanced, but everything this brewer puts out seems to be that way... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Pours turbid amber with a quilt of fine light cream foam. Smells of stoney amber malts, some herbal hops, some hints of metal and clay. Flavor is all crystal malts and belgian yeast. The yeast is sweet and dirty with a bit of apricot essence. Some biscuit in the malt with a tea flavor and some more metal. Medium on full bodied for the style with a soft, but persistent carb and a slime finish. Decent beer.

Pours a glorious orangey copper color. The head is dense and fluffy. Upon sniffing, one finds an inviting bouquet of orange peel and yeast. The palate is soft and satisfying with a bit of sour. Very drinkable!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance is deep copper and cloudy, with a medium creamy white head. Aroma is fruity and bready, with definitive yeasty Belgian esters. Taste is a sweet light caramel malt with hints of peach and apricot. Mouthfeel is light and highly carbonated, very refreshing. Finish is well balanced with a lingering sweet malt on the tongue.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Great orange color in the glass with a large head that crackles as it dissipates. Aroma of banana, nutmeg, cinnamon & funky yeast. Taste is sour, slightly sweet & bitter at the same time & has a long dry aftertaste. Really crisp & refreshing mouthfeel.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy orange beer with a thick foamy white head that subsides with an audible crackle. Yeasty nose with prominent nutmeg, vanilla, and lemon aromas. Flavor is a little sour initially and then gives way to a subtle sweetness with delicious undertones of the spices from the smell. Really understated beer, but not boring in any way. The sweet-sour balance is exquisite. Excellent stuff.

MY 500TH BEER RATING!! Woo WOO!! Ok that’s enough of that crap. A 2011 Rare Vos from 2011 in the cellar. Pours an amber orange with a creamy white one finger head. No lacing. Aroma of spices, malts, bread, metal, and Belgian yeasts. Taste is great as it warms. Citrus, spices, pepper, Belgian yeasts, a slight bitter hoppiness. Pretty complex, well balanced beer. Dry finish. Medium light body. Medium carbonation.
