3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ Coalhouse Pizza. Like most Ommegangs, this brew has flavors and textures that are tough to grasp, but after reading up on this beer, the assortment of grain makes sense. Almost tastes like Multi-Grain cherrios. Very solid offering.

12 ounce from Beer Trappe. Yeasty Belgian tasting beer. Lemon, little tartness, and somewhat dry on the finish. Pretty damn good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ommegang Scythe & Sickle Harvest Ale has a medium, creamy, off-white head, a brilliant, bubbly, orange appearance, and a thin lacing sheen left behind on the glass. The aroma is fruity and spicy, and the taste is of peppery rye, white bread, white bread crust, fruit, and there is a nice hop bitterness at the end. The mouthfeel is medium and prickly, and Ommegang Scythe & Sickle finishes dry, sweet, and easily drinkable. Overall, this is a most excellent beer. RJT

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark orange/amber colored pour. Big white head that fades a little bit too quickly. Some lacing. Big aroma of malt and spice. Taste is a sweet malty flavor with some spiciness. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The color of this beer is a hazy orange with a large, pillowy off-white head, and the aroma is reminiscent of toasted malts, floral hops, oats, rye, and wheat. The taste is quite sour, slightly bitter, and a touch sweet; furthermore, the palate combines a thick texture, medium body, average carbonation, and a long finish.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Appearance: clear coppery-amber pour with two fingers of dense, foamy, light beige head that slowly shrinks to a rocky surface cap; lots of carbonation; a second pour to top off was a little over-agressive, leading to some floaties. Aroma: malty and sweet, with prominent yeasty clove notes, nutmeg, a bit of burning cardboard, and some saison-like must; a hint of banana, perhaps, lends this almost a weizenbock-ish nose. Taste: grainy, with some orange marmalade, clove, a hint of cinnamon, apricots, white raisins, and star anise. Finish: sweetness, spices, and a bit of heat (rye?) last pleasantly, and thereís a surprising sour bite at the tail end to help cleanse the palate. Notes: Itís not a gulper, but itís not a sipper either. Seems almost like a maltier, spicier version of their Rare Vos. Itís good. Darn good. Iím a sucker for beers with rye in the malt bill, and I was pleased to actually get some of that rye heat, especially in the finish.
