COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Scythe & Sickle Harvest Ale is brewed with barley, wheat, oats and rye. Scythe and sickle is a seasonal brew that celebrates the richness of the grain harvest. Brewed with barley, wheat, oats and – in a nod to traditional upstate New York grains – rye, this fine ale is malty and creamy on the palate. The flavors of the grains and earth shine through. Enjoy the refreshment of the season and joys of fine brewing.

On tap at Rustico. Served in a tulip. Medium brown color with amber highlights. Nose has a nice maltiness alongside some light hop notes and a bit of yeast. Flavor has light spice and a good earthy quality underneath malt complexity. Medium body and a bit dry.

Slightly hazy orange pour with a nice white head that lasts. Really nice lacing as well. Aroma is malt, peppery, and earthy. Taste is very much the same and a bit doughy. Nose is a bit sweeter than the taste. Silky texture.

UPDATED: OCT 28, 2012 Reviewed on 10.24.2012 Poured into a standard pint glass. Pours an opaque coppery gold with moderate head. Head has excellent retention, amongst the best i have seen. Smell is full of earthy and grain tones, truly smells of harvest. The taste is complex, with flavors of fresh grain, malt, and earth. Moderate carbonation and very smooth mouthfeel. Overall an awesome beer, will definitely look for it again.

Cloudy amber color with rich colored head. Tastes like some of the Belgium beers that I have learned to love. Caramel and pepper notes. Really tasty brew
