COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Scythe & Sickle Harvest Ale is brewed with barley, wheat, oats and rye. Scythe and sickle is a seasonal brew that celebrates the richness of the grain harvest. Brewed with barley, wheat, oats and – in a nod to traditional upstate New York grains – rye, this fine ale is malty and creamy on the palate. The flavors of the grains and earth shine through. Enjoy the refreshment of the season and joys of fine brewing.

Pours with a huge head which lingers. Cloudy orange amber appearance. Peppery aroma and flavor. Some Belgian notes on the tongue. Not much body.

Dark yellow (is that possible) pour from draft. White head. Apple and sweet aroma. Tastes very fruity - tropical but mostly apple. Strong tho. Enjoyable but a little sweet for my balls

Bottle pour. Dark orange with a lot of cloudy head. Lemon and orange peel aroma. Definitely picking up the rye in this one. A lot of wheat and dark fruit. This is a very unique beer, and very memorable. Loved it.

UPDATED: APR 21, 2014 Amber color rich thickly foamed head, citrus and pine notes, rye spice is evident, clean finish without lasting bitterness, carbonation is a little too strong Something mildly metallic

Bottle from BOTW. Rustic farmhouse nose, lemon, hay, a touch of funkiness, spicy yeast. Cloudy orange-brown with a tall, rocky head. Spicy yeast flavor, rich malts and grains, somewhat sweet and buttery--or oily, oranges, honey. Crisp and good. Quite complex and flavorful.

Hazy medium orange amber. Large fluffy, creamy white head. Wheaty aroma with a little spicy grain. Medium body, smooth and creamy. Flavor is also wheaty with more spicy grain/rye than aroma, some citrus. Finishes a light rye spice, light to moderate earthy/grassy bitterness Come together really nicely.. Very enjoyable.

Beautiful, beautiful pour. Hazy amber with a huge , fluffy white head and lots of dancing bubbles. Taste is (obviously) heavy on the grains with a long finish.

Good session beer. Pours with a massive dense head; heavy grain aromas of oatmeal; crisp and dry palate.

Pours a golden amber with white head. Has aromas of barley and yeast. Flavors of banana, yeast, hops, and some earthy elements. Not bad I guess.

Pours a hazy amber orange with a big and dense ivory head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of sweet honey and bread crust, clove and grain. Taste is malt driven with bread crust and grain but also has some marmalade sweetness. Some clove character and floral hop flavor along with an earthiness and nice rye spiciness in the finish. Finishes semi dry and spicy. Mouthfeel is creamy with amedium body and carbonation. The grains, hops and yeast all add lavors that blend well. Drinkable and would try again.
