COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Scythe & Sickle Harvest Ale is brewed with barley, wheat, oats and rye. Scythe and sickle is a seasonal brew that celebrates the richness of the grain harvest. Brewed with barley, wheat, oats and – in a nod to traditional upstate New York grains – rye, this fine ale is malty and creamy on the palate. The flavors of the grains and earth shine through. Enjoy the refreshment of the season and joys of fine brewing.

Medium sweet flavor, toasted malts, light rye tang, some dry citrus, spices, yeast and wheat. Medium bodied with lively, creamy carbonation. Dries out nicely in the finish, some more yeasty bread, light toast, hints of citrus fruits, spices, toasty sugars. A very nice beer. Pretty dynamic.

bhensonb (11250) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 14, 2012
Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy copper with a 3 finger fizzy/creamy off-white head. Aroma (through all that head) is lightly spicy. Might be from rye. Full bodied. Foamy carbonation. The flavor is very Belgian. Definitely earthy with rye. Dry, almost astringent. Hop is decent - but whether it’s rye bitter or hop bitter? Very, very tasty.
