COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Scythe & Sickle Harvest Ale is brewed with barley, wheat, oats and rye. Scythe and sickle is a seasonal brew that celebrates the richness of the grain harvest. Brewed with barley, wheat, oats and – in a nod to traditional upstate New York grains – rye, this fine ale is malty and creamy on the palate. The flavors of the grains and earth shine through. Enjoy the refreshment of the season and joys of fine brewing.

On tap at GABF. Pours with a clear golden hued body with a large and long lasting white head. Aromas are grassy and grainy, with light brown sugar, and some alcohol. Flavors are malty and grainy, lightly spicy, hay, fruity, apricot, floral. Very lively carbonation with a dry finish.

Pours two fingers of head on a cloudy straw colored body. The aroma is honey, grain and spice. Pretty nice. The taste has a complex and balanced profile. Moderate doses of grapefruit bitter and honey sweet. The texture is crisp. Enjoyable.

Well balanced. ~meidum bodied with very high CO2, prickly, lingering earthy finish. ~Excellent beer. Complex and very well balanced. Love the combo of malt and yeast character.

Pours a amber-orange with a one finger off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of toasted malts, spicy rye, pine, earthy hops, sweet malts, caramel, and some bread malts. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, slighty bitter, medium finish. Overall, a pretty nice fall ale.

Very malty, caramel aroma. Pours a nice hazy orange color and foamy head on the pour. To taste you pick up the malts, banana, caramel, rye malts and dark fruits. Lingers nicely on the palate. Classic Belgian style beer.

Pours hazy orange with a huge foamy, wash-cycle white head. Yeast-forward profile with a fruity, banana, persimmon aroma and taste. Very marshmallow mouth feel. Overall, a nicely balanced Belgian, like drinking a wispy cloud.

Poured from bottle into shaker. Cloudy gold orange with big foamy off white head. Some settled yeast on the bottle of the bottle, got poured into the glass and stayed suspended. Smell is heavy on grains and Belgian yeast. Taste is more of the same, very grainy, very Belgian. Palate is smooth and creamy. Really nice beer.

Bottle. Pours orange/copper, a little hazy, big frothy off white head with good retention, strong lacing. Citrus, squash, a little spicy, some sweetness on the nose. Creamy, medium malt body. Sweet potato, a little maple, lots of rye, some pine to finish.

Pint on tap. Hazy amber-copper with a ring of cream. Nose is toffee, dark bread and spicy orange. Tastes of the same nice mix with some apple butter and earthy toasted grain. Near-medium body is to the sweet side but balanced by a dry finish. Medium carbonation suits the big maltiness.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a large off-white head that lasted beyond mid-glass and left ample sticky lace. Pleasant aroma of malt and bread with just a hint of Ommegang’s fruity Belgian yeast. The flavor is malt, fruity Belgian yeast, a and bit of rye spice followed by mild hops bitterness. Silky, well rounded mouthfeel. Very nice ale.
