Ok, this is a tough one because I love everything about the beer...but the beer. Nose starts out nicely, but the carbonation and dry palate kill any chance of soaking in the flavors. So it’s a tease...

Great copper color. Good aroma with notes of lemon, orange peel and earthy tones. Slight citrus taste with medium hops, strong wheat after taste w/ just a hint of spice to finish it off

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Has a very thick, dense, white head that doesn’t dissipate at all. It’s creamy with flavors of caramel malt and spices (clove, nutmeg). Apple and apricots. The Belgian-style yeast gives it an earthy quality. The Harvest Ale description is accurate, but I think the use of so many different grains made it taste a little strange.

Really good. I definitely taste the ommegang house flavor in this one, but I also think they did a good job with the grains too. Sweeter than a normal saison would run, but has a strong barnyard flavor due to all the grains. Deep honey color with ample carbonation and a head/lace that sticks around. Ommegang delivers again.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A good beer. Different and tasty. Aroma was earthy with a slight metallic smell. Pour was a nice hazy burnt orange with a two finger off white head. Beautiful beer. Taste was very big and full for the low ABV. Spicy and malty with ginger, earth and wheat dominating. Very nice strong rye presence as well. A Belgian yeast undertone is present in the finish. All in all a very unique beer. Nice strong carbonation.

On tap. Pours a clear orange with a thin white head. Aroma of clove, grainy malt, peppery spices. Flavor of buttery grains, sweet fruits, spices including clove. Kind of weird, tastes Belgiany even though it’s not. Not offensive, just not what I was expecting.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Pours a little bit cloudy orange with a big off-white head that goes down somewhat quickly into a much smaller version and leaves some lace in the process. Aroma of banana, caramel, toast, wheat, oatmeal, apricot, and some lingering spicy rye. Flavor of banana, apricot, toast, candied nuts, wheat, dried grains, and a dry, spicy rye finish. Medium-bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a dry, spritzy, spicy mouthfeel. Good but not quite what I’d hoped for from their harvest ale.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy golden wheat with some sediment, huge head, and great lacing. Aroma is a quality balance of yeast, banana, and spicy rye. Taste is yeast, rye, biscuit, a hint of yeast sweetness, then a nice bitter counter, all with a wheat backbone throughout. I’m not big on yeasty beers, but this is by far the tastiest I’ve had. Palate is creamy and highly carbonated... maybe a slight bit too much.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12oz bottle into brandy snifter. Deep, hazy orange with thin bright white head. Carbonation appears high. Aroma earthy, spicy Belgian yeast with subtle citrus and floral hops. A touch of leather, straw and sweetness on the nose. Flavour - yeast notes strong but also mellow. Hops more pronounced in the flavour than aroma, and linger on the finish. Tangerine, pine and pepper. Carbonation high, mouthfeel thin. Pleasant but not exceptional.
