Scythe & Sickle Harvest Ale is brewed with barley, wheat, oats and rye. Scythe and sickle is a seasonal brew that celebrates the richness of the grain harvest. Brewed with barley, wheat, oats and – in a nod to traditional upstate New York grains – rye, this fine ale is malty and creamy on the palate. The flavors of the grains and earth shine through. Enjoy the refreshment of the season and joys of fine brewing.

Amber ale? Brownish to yellow colored pour with a white head. Lively body full of carbonation. Very easy to drink, little to no hop bitterness. I was surprised by this one. I would buy it again if it was 12 bucks for 4

Pours a hazy, caramel brown with thick, persistent beige foam. Spicy nose with some bread, floral hops, maybe some citrus and banana. The taste is also complex with some spice (clove) and lemon. Medium body active fizz and a surprisingly crisp finish. The hops and malt balance well, with the bitter hops coming out slightly ahead, thanks to the spice.

Farmhouse, light, musty aroma. Hazed orange-meets-brown color with a soft off-white head and excellent lacing. Light saison like flavor with a hint of bready malt and some citrus rind notes.

12 oz pour from bottle into Duvel tulip. Pours very hazy, vibrant orange, great fluffy white head that daily quickly dissipates. Nose is sweet, malty, hay, caramel, and a hint of rye. Body is full rich and creamy with a dry finish. Taste is sweet and malty. A beer for a cold fall night.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color. Aromas of grainy malts, yeast, and a touch of hops. Flavor was kind of bland, herbal with some sweetness.

(12oz bottle) Pours a hazy golden orange body with a rocky off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, grass, florals, herbs, nuts, and roasted grain. Flavor of caramel, biscuit, huskiness, citrus, and roasted grain.

My #1 beer of all time! Taste the rye. Great carbonation! Light enough to drink all day but enough body to remind you that it's there. Perfect!

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a Trappist glass. Hazy orange with medium white head. Aroma is spicy orange, medium body, well carbonated, and a little lacing. Taste is orange, bubble gum, and spicy rye.

2014 vintage on tap at HopCat Ann Arbor. Pours a clear brown amber with a white head. Aromas of light bubble gum and slight toastiness. As for the flavor, the age (maybe) seems to give it a light crispness. Toasted malt and fruitiness with that light crispness, overall bubble gum with some earthy aged hops. Not sure quite why, but I find it really enjoyable with the age on it.
