4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
From a 750 ml bottle. Pours dark brown, like a cola, with a thick, beige head. Aromas of Belgian yeast, chocolate and caramel. Flavors are milk chocolate, vanilla, with plum, raisin and licorice. Cocoa in the finish. Slight hop bite. Creamy mouthfeel, but not heavy or sticky. Malty and delicious. This is a really, really nice brew.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
After Chocolate Indulgence was so bad my hopes are.... meh. Let’s do this thing.
Smells like... acidic wine. Maybe like acidic coffee? Acidic chocolate?
Appearance is a bit like a brown ale. Dark brown. Head is more fine that chocolate indulgence.
Taste is better than CI. A bit of chocolate in there. Dry chocolate. A bit more like a porter in it’s metalic note.
Palate is medium body but very agressive with the carbonation.
Again not an amazing beer but better than chocolate indulgence. Maybe more stout than CI. Don’t pay $15 for this. Don’t!!!!!!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma is deep sweet malts, apple, raisins, caramel and plum. Taste is similar with a roasty maltiness, caramel and some hints of Belgian sugar candy and finishes with a slightly warm liquor snap. The malt body carries through nicely. Appearance is a very dark amber with a head with bubbly light brown head thst retains well.

From BA review from 2-11-12 -
Served on tap in a 10 oz chalice
Appearance – A deep brown color with a very light just off white head. The head fades leaving a thin film on the surface of the beer and a very small amount of lacing.
Smell – A nice bitter chocolate aroma is initially present. These mix with a sweet cherry aroma which lightens the bitter chocolate giving a sweeter chocolate aroma.
Taste – Sweet chocolate flavor hits the tongue initially. The sweet chocolate mingles with dark fruit flavors in the middle of the taste. The fruit is largely cherry, but some raisin and prune are in there as well. The flavors blend, but not in the best way, bringing an almost artificial cherry flavor of a cherry cordial. The sweetness seems to start to fade toward the end however, turning more bitter and leaving a slightly bitter chocolate flavor which is more agreeable with the tongue then the sweet cherry chocolate flavor.
Mouthfeel – Rather thick for the strength of the brew. It has good body and carbonation which makes it quite easy drinking and enjoyable.
Overall – A rather nice brew, but there are better of its class and for its price (bottle or draft) there are better choices out there.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Enjoyed on 5/6/14, pours a dark brown with 2 finger tan head. Smells like toffee, chocolate, and a bit of cherry. The taste is chocolate upfront with a sweet cherry back note. Thick texture. I liked it, it's basically a liquid version of chocolate covered cherries

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rated on 02-11-2012 (Corked and caged bottle) When poured, this beer has a large smooth tan head with a long retention, mostly opaque dark brown body, suspended carbonation, and one ring of lacing. This beer’s aroma is roasted malt, cocoa, chocolate, sweet, and tart cherries. The flavor is sweet, rich, roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa, and a semi-dry finish. The mouthfeel is smooth and thin. This beer is light-medium bodied. This beer is more of a dessert type beer and would pair nicely with chocolate cake. This beer is worth trying as it has a different take for the style.

> Dark cherry, olive, cinnamon bread Belgian porter
[ Bottle ][ Pizza Port Bottle Shop ][ 750mL ][ $13 ][ Woodshop Snifter ][ 3/22/14 ]
>> Listed as a Belgian Porter on the label, not sure why this is in Belgian Ale. Pours clear, deep red with excellent tan foam. Fizzier retention. Nose is kalamata olive, cinnamon bread, dark cherry, olive loaf. Taste is rich cinnamon bread, olive, dark cherry, mild cocoa, kalamata olive juice. Strange beer, it sort of works. Definitely drinkable.
>!< too much olive, not in the right category

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours dark brown, no real head. Aromas of light chocolate and raisins. Tastes is more of the same. not really getting ’Belgian’. Thin finish. OK.
