COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A BELGIAN LOVE AFFAIR Ommegang Seduction is lovingly brewed with six dark malts. Chocolatier Callebut provides the chocolate, while Liefmans brings the cherries. This international romance is consumated with a full body, alluring aromas and flavors of Belgian chocolate, and tart cherries. Seduction is an ale to be lovingly embraced. Beautiful, rich and smooth, roasty and malty throughout, Seduction offers balanced chocolate-cherry notes, a bit of caramel sweetness, and a long, slow finish. Seduction is welcoming and warm-hearted, gently hopped and harbors no bitterness, leaving only a lingering glow.

Tap. Pours near opaque with an average, creamy light tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is chocolate and toast malt, light cherry notes, raisins, and plums. Flavor is malt dominant, heavy chocolate, lightly sour cherry notes, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and poured to a snifter with a nearly black/brown color with ruby highlighting, a lasting, silky, light tan head, and clingy, curtainy lacing. The aroma was smooth malt, light roast with a little cocoa, light sweetness, slight tartness, and dark fruit, more as plum & raisin than cherry. The flavor was similar, with just a medium body, low hop bitterness, a light creaminess to the mouthfeel, an all around smoothness on the palate, and a pleasantly dry finish. Kind of a Three Philosophers light, with a little roast & cocoa. Tasty, but a Porter?

On tap at Petrol station. Pours a dark brown and ruby hue with a small beige head. The aroma is vanilla malt and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a rich malt with raisin and licorice with sweet finish. A good Porter from Ommegang.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. I brought it. A huge gushing tan head over a black beer. Sticky lacing. I smell more yeast notes than anything but some roast and chocolate. The taste is light and fruity. Some yeast. Light roast and chocolate, too. As light drinking porter as I can remember. Very nice.

On Tap at MacGregors. This was the hit of the night for me. The aroma of sweet caramel and chocolate hit me right away. Others at my table could not pick out the caramel. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head, belgian aromas with a little roast. Taste like a belgian and fruity with hints from the cherries and clove and banana. Some roast qualities. Good mix of belgian and porter.

The aroma is peppery, yeasty, chocolate. Not very sweet, no noticeable cherries. The appearance is deep brown, light tan head. The flavor is peppery, yeasty, roasty, chocolate, toasted malt. Not very sweet. The finish is pepper, light pine. Medium in body, actually slighly thin. Ok, not great.

Funk and char nose. Mahogany, thick sticky beige head. Dark chocolate truffle and cherry flavor which leans toward raspberry. Peanut hulls appear when warm. Peppery bitter bite at the end, which is unwelcome given the level of bitterness already present. Off balance and wanting a little sweetness. Rather artificial.

The pour is nearly black with a pale tan, pillowy, rocky, full head which is mostly lasting and leaves thick, Belgian lace. The nose is pleasant with dark caramels, some burnt buttery toast, light cocoa, hints of tart cherries. The flavor is similar with subtle Bing cherries, buttery toast still, dry Belgian chocolate, dark caramels, and a faint earthy roast. The palate is more than medium, creamy, drying slightly, and soft to lively. The finish is drying with chocolate and cherry finally melding, fairly lingering with other notes of mineral, butter, and slight roast. Really not as complex as a Belgian or as most from the beers from this brewery and more of an easy drinker. However, the cherry and chocolate notes seem to finally mesh well by the finish which is quite long for a porter. Seduction seems like a fitting name melding fruit and chocolate as well as warming slightly with keeping such a drinkable beer. Nice addition to the vast array of beers from Ommegang.

draft at Blue Monk, disappointing. dark cola like pour. lighter bodied. feint cherry notes in an otherwise very light weak aroma. Flavor was some cherry, some chocolate, little to no roast. Watery mouthfeel. little complexity. everyone is due for an ocassional let down, i suppose

750 Bottle. Very dark with tan head. Roasted grain nose with some background of chocolate. The flavor was dominated by the Ommegang house yeast. This covered up the faint cherry notes. The cocoa did slip thru along with some dark fruits. Nice silky palate. The yeast flavors stayed all the way to the finish. Too expensive. Great idea of flavors, just not balanced.
