3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750mL bottle. Poured medium-deeper brown with a tall, fluffy beige head.. lots of sticky lacing followed it down. The aroma picked up a blend of sweeter and darker, somewhat smoked chocolates along with cherry dust and earthy/fruity yeast.. soft overall, and the chocolates were really nice. The flavor was also chocolate-centric, with dry, lightly-smoked cocoa leading.. fruity yeast and a hint of cherry around.. chocolate-covered cherries really shined in the end, joined by a kiss of vanilla.. tasty stuff. Medium-bodied at most on the palate, and well-carbonated.. on the dry side and a little grainy.. this came together well as it warmed up and progressed through the palate.

A cloudy chalky brown with a nice dirty head. Belgian yeast aroma, uncharacteristic of the color. The taste is like a Belgian style cocoa chocolate beer. It has a full flavor and body and a chalky finish. I’m not tasting all the adjuncts in here.

Delicious and mellow porter. Aroma was so so. Was expecting more. Notes of sour cherry and a slight roastiness, but not much else. Was hoping for more chocolate. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a one finger tan head. Taste was OK. Wasn’t very full flavored. The strong carbonation drowns out any flavor. No chocolate was present. There was just roasted bitter malt and a sour cherry aftertaste. The cherry wasn’t sweet, it was sour and finished bitter. Still a good beer, though. Heavy carbonation. Was expecting more

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Apu. $16 bucks was a bit too dear for this critter. Yes it is a smooth as silk and easy to consume. Certainly it has a lovely chocolate and nut nose and an erupting beige head. Yes it is well crafted and has multiple layers of chocolate tone and hints of cherries. Yes, it made me long for the next sip that turns into a gulp. the finish was so smooth and subtle it almost made me cry.....for more that is. But $16 hard earned dollars? Yeah, I suppose it was that good.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draft @ Cervesas. Very dark but not totally opaque, and nearly black. Aroma is not so nice, has cherry but smells very amateur and messy. Cluster fuck potential. Palate has wood tannins, which are fun. The chocolate and cherry flavors want to come out badly but are imprisoned. Almost an embarrassment for a brewery I respect.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mild and sweet chocolate nose. The cherry notes for me are in the palate, it is subtle. Appearance is dark with reddish highlights and a tan head with staying power and thick retention. Palate is very sweet. Not terribly well balanced and not a lot going on.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap. Pours near opaque with an average, creamy light tan head, long retention with good lacing. Aroma is chocolate and toast malt, light cherry notes, raisins, and plums. Flavor is malt dominant, heavy chocolate, lightly sour cherry notes, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and poured to a snifter with a nearly black/brown color with ruby highlighting, a lasting, silky, light tan head, and clingy, curtainy lacing. The aroma was smooth malt, light roast with a little cocoa, light sweetness, slight tartness, and dark fruit, more as plum & raisin than cherry. The flavor was similar, with just a medium body, low hop bitterness, a light creaminess to the mouthfeel, an all around smoothness on the palate, and a pleasantly dry finish. Kind of a Three Philosophers light, with a little roast & cocoa. Tasty, but a Porter?

On tap at Petrol station. Pours a dark brown and ruby hue with a small beige head. The aroma is vanilla malt and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a rich malt with raisin and licorice with sweet finish. A good Porter from Ommegang.

Sampled at an esbls tasting. I brought it. A huge gushing tan head over a black beer. Sticky lacing. I smell more yeast notes than anything but some roast and chocolate. The taste is light and fruity. Some yeast. Light roast and chocolate, too. As light drinking porter as I can remember. Very nice.
