randolphjj (88), Raymore, Missouri, USA May 17, 2009 Small bubble structure to the creamy head on this one. Gorgeous brown / red color to the body. Only the slightest hint of cherry on the nose.
I get brown sugar and plum on the first taste, with raisin on the finish. Great carbonation on this one, with an easy-drinking style. Wonderfully complex and deceptively easy to drink. Defreni (994), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 17, 2009 Flaske: Mørkebrun øl. Ikke synderlig vinøs, måske en smule ung. Men diskret aroma, smagen er igen diskret, overraskende at den ikke udnytter alkoholen lidt bedre. Kedelig for en quad. DaveBrewer (9), Florida, USA does not count May 16, 2009 Comparable to some of the better Belgian style ales that I’ve tried. Seems like it should have a stronger flavor than it does, but the flavor is outstanding. WakeandBake (422), Greenville, Michigan, USA May 15, 2009 Updated: May 19, 200912oz Bottle A muddy burnt amber color body with a lasting small to medium offwhite head, huge amounts of sheeting and nice lacing. Aroma of dark cherries, apple, rasins, earthy spices and tobacco. Flavor is fruity without being tart, malty, yeasty, cloves, peppercorns, tobacco, sometimes I wonder if im getting hops or alcohol they seemed to have mixed well because it seems more spicy than alcoholic in flavor and finish. Slightly dry/slightly sweet. This shit is the bomb. WVHouseofBeer (337), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA May 14, 2009 Poured a dark ruby-red with a pretty good size head of creamy white. The aroma wasn’t particularly noteworthy, some dark fruits but mostly alcohol. What a great taste though, full of cherries and chocolates. The balance of flavors in this Quad made this a very smooth brew indeed. LC - CP boFNjackson (1233), Portland, Oregon, USA May 9, 2009 Bottle... Poured deep ruby with a thin off-white head. Toasted burnt/caramelized sugars, spices and warming alcohol on the nose. Big, chewy palate which accentuate the strong alcohol notes. Roasted malts and dark fruits--like prunes or raisins. Swee, fruits in the finish with reminiscing alcohol and a nutty almond character. robschoenherr (1), Michigan, USA does not count May 5, 2009 I’ve always liked this beer. The aroma and flavor are unique and delicous which are two things that dont always go hand in hand. When I feel like something special, I reach for this one. Bhops (329), Dallas, Texas, USA May 4, 2009 Pours dark brown/red, medium head. Aroma is sweet with some cherry fruitiness. Taste is interesting, not overly fruity, some sour notes, like unripe cherries. Bitter finish. Interesting mix.
