shawnm213 (884), South Bend, Indiana, USA Mar 31, 2009 I enjoyed this beer! Dark brown ruby. fruit, spices, bottle from city wide liquors. what a treat jameswolfe (141), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Mar 30, 2009 This is a very strong and tasteful beer. Just a little fruity and yeasty for my taste. I tried it at JKO and was already drunk so I may rate again later. ~Light feel. Clean sweet finish.
~Good beer. I really like the fact that it is so light and not overbearingly sweet like other Belgian brews that I have tried discogoatboy (15), , Florida, USA Mar 29, 2009 Bottle says it was bottled in 2007 and I bought it in 2009. Strong cherries scent with a bit of cherries in the taste as well. The taste was very yeasty but that is to be expected from a quad. savnac (394), Palmer, Alaska, USA Mar 27, 2009 Bottle. Mostly an earth yeasty smell with hints of caramel, bread, and dried fruit. Clear amber with an off white bubbly head. Medium sourness, light sweetness. Medium body, lively sparkling carbonation with a nice sweet finish where the cherries come through. Very well balanced beer and the alcohol is masked very well. Definitely try this beer. NDbeerdrinker (164), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Mar 27, 2009 Pours a reddish-brown with a big foamy tan head. Aroma is yeast, dark fruit, cherry, some caramel. Flavor is heavy malt up front which eases into the dark fruit flavor, and ends with a lingering bready spice to it. I like how the beer kind of works through the flavors as you taste it and it has a nice complexity to it. Pretty good stuff. green (187), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Mar 26, 2009 Limited head retention. Sweet but doesn’t cover noticeable bitterness; not overwhelmingly unbalanced though.
Generally sharp with dark fruits. Slightly thin mouthfeel. Almost tastes like wine; but not a very profound wine.
