Pours a murky candy apple red with brownish highlights. Big, fluffy head. Sticky lacing is prominent. Aromas of plum, caramel, licorice, cinnamon, fig, and chocolate. Nice. First touch on the tongue is frothy and smooth. Plum and dark candy, brown sugar, fig, and sweet banana. Don’t get a lot of cherries, but the other flavors really make up for it. Very smooth-bodied, and full and savoring. Very enjoyable i want more. DWestrick (235), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA Jan 25, 2009 bottle. a tasty belgian style beer. great flavors and not an overwhelming yeast taste (why i don’t drink many belgian beers. good stuff wingsfan (7), , Kansas, USA does not count Jan 17, 2009 Perhaps the sweetest Belgian style I’ve tasted. Malty as it should be with cherries, cherries, a little chocolate and brandy and then more cherries. Distinctive taste works well as a 2nd or 3rd round choice as you won’t confuse it with anything else. Very pleasant. thejoeshow (232), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Jan 16, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a rich caramel brown color with a big foamy tan head that has great retention and very nice lacing. Aroma is slight cherries and a touch of yeast/bread with a slight note of alcohol at the end. Flavor is a semi sweet, malt with a slight fruit, mainly cherry. Very pleasant and enjoyable. Easy to drink, and almost refreshing...? A "refreshing" quad? I’m on crack.
