2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
A: pours a chocolate leather ale with two fingers of graham head which falls to a thick quilt in a couple minutes. The quilt dies down to a thin, broken sheet in a few more minutes. Where light can shine, clarity is excellent and reveals a nice caramel ale. Scantly spotty lacing.
S: Yeast is up front here and and maintains throughout as the baseline. There are some earthy hops and hints of candy sugar, but really seems one dimensional from this aspect. some hints of pear juice.
T: Yeast and pear juice. Some faint metallic flavors. The yeast is a little more subdued here but thrives once again in the finish. The alcohol here is well presented and only hints at it’s presence. I keep going back to the pear flavor, it’s interesting.
M: Thin with high carb. Slightly satiating finish.
O: I think this is just average for a quad, honestly there’s nothing here.

Excelente Quadruppel americana. Excelente breja!

Rating this beer a day later. Everything you could want in a quadruple. Great flavor, nice aroma, smooth yet tangible mouth feel! Not overly sweet. At nine and a half percent ABV one or two is all you need. If you can find it, buy it!

Bottle 355 ml. Bouth at Half Time (Poughkeepsie). Pours caramel brown with thick froathy beige head. Aroma: bananas, malt, sweet, vanilla, wood (?), caramel. Awesome nose! Taste: malt, honey, alcohol, dark fruits. Balance is near perfect. Full bodied beer. Alcohol has a warming effect. Milky texture. Not too heavy, despite high ABV. Really nice one!

Chestnut in the glass with nice head. Plum, raisin and a touch of chocolate and coffee on the tongue. Smooth and flavourful. This is a good strong beer in the Belgian style.

I had this at Global Brew. Pours reddish-brown with a tan head. Taste dark fruits, sweet, strong. I thought this was pretty good. I would drink this again.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
This strong beer’s taste is impacted by its high alcohol content but it seems to be a great blend of ales with characteristics of a saison and champagne. It pours a beautiful caramel brown with the sound of battery acid as it is rifled full of carbonation. That creates a head that is everlasting. This beer comes across a bit too sweet, with some spices reminiscent of cinnamon but also with a heavy alcohol overtone though it does coat the tongue well with its full body. The aftertaste is cumulative with a great lingering bitterness. Great pick to share with friends.

Bottle 0,75L. Thanks to Kita for sharing. Hazy, medium ruby red colour with creamy, light brown, fully lasting head and excellent lacing. Aroma of cherry, cooked red wine, cinnamon, apple, citruses and oak cask wood. Taste is light bitter at the start and moderate bitter at the end of the sip, aromated with cherry and red wine note. Full bodied, oily beer with soft carbonation.
