4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2012 version, brewed with 5% Leifmans Kriek in this one as opposed to Lindemans in the pic.... I much prefer lindemans but............
A: Looks amazing. Reddish brown. perfect tan head with great retention.
S: A little too musty for me, but pretty balanced. Some great notes of cherry (duh!) grape, a hint of malt.
T: Like the smell. Hint of cherry, too much must for me. Very well balanced though and I found myself easily making my way through the beer.
P: Medium body. Delicate....
Overall this is a pretty solid beer although far from perfect. Too much must for my tastes but there are some great fruit notes that really put this above other Belgian styles.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from a bottle. Sweet aroma and flavor.
Some alcohol esters mix well with the dark fruit and medium malt flavors.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours dark brownish red with a sour & tartness on the nose. The taste is almost roasted like a stout even with some tobacco but with a light bitterness and alcohol wine finish. My impressions overall are bitterness, smokiness & wine, I don’t taste any cherry. Good but not the best quad I’ve had.

750 ml bottle produced in March 2013. Pours reddish brown, substantial toffee head. My nose detects tart cherry, wood and loads of fruity esters. Taste is herbal, fruity, muted tartness, wine aftertaste. Super stealthy abv.

11-12-13-14 flight. Rated for 2011. Hazy cooper color with off white head. Herbal taste with a dry finish. Very nice. 2012 version had an apple aroma and more acidic. 2011-2013 were hazy amber, 2014 more clear. 2011,2014,2013,2012 how I liked them.

12 oz Bottle. Pours deep brown with reddish hue. Almost burgundy. Solid drinker, but still a Belgian so never going to be one of my top beers. Definitely interesting. Lambic adds distinct sour/ cherry note to brew which works with the banana/clove/spice/ yeasty belgian notes. Definite sweetness in there- toffee, malts and raisins. Tempered by sour cherry and hops. Smooth mouthfeel- not overly carbonated. Nice to sip on. One is plenty. Somewhat boozy.
