k4df4l (133), DTown, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 18, 2008 Bottle - pours a ruddy copper with a lightly off white head that quickly dissolves into a light slim of bubbles with some lively carbonation visible. Aroma is spicy and tart with yeasty phenols, alcohol and cherry & apple. Flavor is initially sweet & malty then the yeasty spice and lambic character w/ cherries, raisins, cedar/woody notes and tart flavors become present. Finishes with a faint alcohol that becomes stronger as the glass warms with a dry, spritzy finale.

Pours a slight hazy, Dark Amber with nice beige head. Aroma of Alcohol spice, some clove, and classic belgiam yeast. Flavor is semi-sweet with a slight tang blended into a nice maltiness, some citris. Palate is full bodied with med-high carbonation. Over all this is a very good beer. Would enjoy with friends. Jblauvs (113), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jul 25, 2008 cloudy brown pour, large off white head that remains for a while. sweet, malty aroma with a hint of fruit. sweet molasses up front then a bit of fruity tartness in the middle, the end is surprisingly roasty and dry . Enjoyable. craftycarl21 (120), USA Jul 25, 2008 brown pour with an amber orange tint. big billowy cream colored head, slow to dissipate- really nice looking beer. Aroma has malt, dark cherry, walnut, some sweetness like cream or vanilla. Flavor is delectable- malty with the sweetness still there, but subtle. I think if it was better aged, seeing as this is the 08, that the cherry would have been more evident. Great mouthfeel, really nice beer. Guinness4Duff (429), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jul 25, 2008 2007 bottle served in a trappist glass. Somewhat of a cloudy brown pour with a thin tan colored head. Aroma is fruity and alcoholic in a familiar Belgian fashion. Flavor is sweet up front with a tart fruity middle, you can taste the cherries, and finishes with a dry mildly roasted flavor that is rather nice. Not too shaby.
