Picked this up in Marion, IA at Hy-Vee. Surprised to see it there actually. Aroma of wheat and citrus. Flavor of orange peel, corriander, and wheat. Not overpowering, just right. Very smooth beer.

A- Body is an extremely hazy and pale straw yellow color. Body color a wit should have. Pours with a large fluffy white head that quickly fades to a nice collar. No lacing is left behind in the glass. Cloudiness is uniform throughout the body.
S- Nice strong smell of citrus and coriander. Sweet, bready, Belgian yeast in the background.
T- Big taste for such a light beer. Lots of citrus zest upfront with accents of coriander and some yeast in the background. Citrus fades somewhat for the finish which is all corriander, yeast, and a nice kick of hop bitterness and taste. A doughy sweetness lingers on the palate long after each sip. Great-yet classic example of a witbier taste.
P- Medium carbonation and light body. The yeast used makes the mouthfeel very smooth and creamy. Has the excellent mouthfeel of a good hefe.
O- This is a great witbier. Classic taste of a witbier with the mouthfeel of a good hefe. This is a great light session ale. I wish this style got more credit around here. Unfortunately, I spilled half of my glass and I only had a 12 oz. bottle. This is definitely something I will have again. My second offering from Ommegang. I have rare vos, three philosophers, ommegeddon, and ommegang abbey waiting in my house and I can’t wait to try these ones too!

16 ounce pint - $5.50 at Taco Mac in Buford, Georgia.
Appearance: Clouded, soft buttercream yellow body with a thin, long-lasting cap of finely-textured white foam.
Smell: Tangy-scented nose of a porringer of Cream of Wheat garnished with fresh lemon zest and lightly seasoned with coriander.
Taste: Malted wheat, lightly tangy and sweet, along with a light backing of soft barley. The initial sweetness quickly yields to the incoming taste of lemon. Smaller trace of coriander. Very, very faint bitterness. One last hint of tart citrus in the dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Slight creaminess in the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Fairly pleasant and easily drinkable, serving as a good thirst-quencher for the warmer months.

Palate is light to medium, watery with a fizzy carbonation and alightly dry finish. A refreshing and spritely Belgian Witbier with a good combination of base ingredients and spices.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2010 This was delicious on tap at the Stone Bistro. Slightly cloudy golden yellow color with a white head. The aroma is orange, lemon, coriander and wheat. The flavor is orange, wheat and lemon as well as some grassy tones. Comparable with Hoegaarden though this one has a better drinkability and flavor
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 GKillian (525) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - APR 6, 2010
Pours hazy straw yellow. More wheat than citrus aromas. Crisp, refreshing taste of wheat; citrus more lemon than orange. Light bodied makes this a good choice for a hot day. Overall a nice Belgian White.
