12 oz. Bottle. Cloudy yellow color. Light to medium head. Decent Witbier but is lacking complexity which keeps the score lower. Easy to drink.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KyotoLefty (3480) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 28, 2009
Bottle. Thin appearance and rather thin flavor. Very dry and clean but lacking flavor. I like it much more 2 years ago from the 750 ml bottle. This one was clean and easy to drink, but with very little character.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Sparky (2128) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - AUG 26, 2009
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a one finger white head that faded into a thin topper quickly. The nose is wheat, light bubblegum and spice. The taste follows suit for the most part with some light hops thrown in. Medium prickly dry mouthfeel. Good refreshing beer.

appearance a bit too pale with this bottle--usually it should be more golden; palate ideal, aroma inviting, flavor perfectly balanced. Yeah!
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 GardenGabe (136) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 25, 2009
Pour from a 25.4 is a clear pale straw with a big loose head. Head settles almost immediately leaving no lacing. Smells of lemon, Belgium yeast and spice. Taste is mildly sour with light bitterness and slightly sweet finish. Refreshing. Feel is watery but leaves a noticeable coating. Nice fine carbonation.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 TheGent (467) - , Massachusetts, USA - AUG 24, 2009
I found a note I took down for this two weeks ago but forgot to post so here it goes. This was a very good and well executed white beer. A pleasant slight citrus and yeast aroma and just the right carbonation so for refreshing drinking during a rather warm day. The pale yellow color was evocative of the style. A classic representation but what less could be expected from ommegang

(750 ml bottle) Pours light cloudy yellow with a tall whitish head in my weizen. Cloudier deeper into bottle. Aroma of yeast, light citrus, candy and wheat malt. Mouthfeel light, smooth and refreshing. Large, broken rings of lacing. Flavor of light citrus zing and wheat malt. Lightly sweet with a hint of spice. A bit yeasty. Well-balanced, pleasant summer refresher.

UPDATED: OCT 10, 2009 12 oz bottle. Beautiful looking beer. Faint skunk flavor toward the beginning which disappears after a few drinks. Develops nice Belgian beer flavors as it warms and develops a nice aftertaste. It’s clear this beer is not Belgian in origin but it tastes pretty damn close.
