3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 durhambeer (2028) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUL 13, 2008
Bottle from Sam’s. This is a fairly standard Belgian white with the expected flavors--wheat, yeast, lemon, coriander. For my taste buds, it was heavier on the wheat and not as lemony-yeasty as I wanted. Not bad, but pretty average. Probably would have been well-served by a lemon slice, so that tells you something about it, I guess.

hazy yellow pour with an inch tall foamy white head and some streaky lacing. aroma of wheat, orange peel, yeast and watered down lemon juice. the flavor is lemon-y and tart with some stale grain/wheat, floral and lightly savory yeast. tart spicy finish leaves some acidity in the aftertaste. medium body with a phlegmy thick mouth feel.
needs a re-rate from a guaranteed fresh bottle. i have suspicions about this one...

Pours a cloudy golden color with a light head. Thick, bready texture with very strong citrus and coriander notes. Excellent wheat beer.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 nearbeer (2572) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 9, 2008
12 oz. hazy straw color with a three-finger head that settles quickly to a lasting spit. Aromas of citrus, acidic-bready yeast, and slight bubblegum. Flavors are the same, plus a little dry lemongrass on the finish. Light fizzy body is refreshing and dryish.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AllAboutStout (605) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 8, 2008
Pours a cloudy light gold in color. No head to be found, only a slight circle of froth sitting atop in the middle.
Smell is spicy and lemony. Taste has more citrus fruit in it. There is also some dark spices in the flavor. There’s plenty of carbonation as well. Very light, easy drinking wit. Refreshing and good.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 jeckenroth (121) - Charlestown, Massachusetts, USA - JUL 6, 2008
Large but short white head. Amber to slightly gold. Cloudy.
Smelled of yeast, wheat and a touch of citrus.
Citrus with a large amount of spice, more than you would expect given the smell. Nutmeg roams throughout. Finishes with a nod towards orange peels.
Light and thin on the tongue, lively carbonation.
Very indicative of the style with your typical Omagang twist. Well done.

Poured a really nice cloudy lemonade yellow with a big fluffy white head. Smelled a little of wheat, but not much else, not a lot of spice or banana that you’d typically associate with wheats. Really thin and flavorless on the mouthfeel. Very watery. Left almost no impression on my palate. Fairly disappointing, but not offensive.
