Ommegang Witte, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale with whispers of sweet orange and a touch of tart lemon. Soft and seductive, Ommegang Witte is this summer's version of spicy intrigue and refreshing flavor.

Slight haze in a straw colored brew; light head cover and tiny infrequent dots of lace. This is as advertised: wheat and malt that moves through the palate with a bit of orange and lemon grass. Minimal bittering balances things nicely. An unpretentious example of the style.

Bottle at the Dolphin Hotel Disney World. Belgian style glass. Pours a very hazy golden yellow with a thick, foamy white head. Head lasted and nice lacing took place. Aroma of lemons, white bread, corriander, orange and yeasts. The taste was similar with the lemon and orange primarily on the front end. Finishes with slight yeast and bread with a hint of lemon remaining. Light body with good carbonation. Tingles on the tongue. Another good one from Ommegang.

Hazy pale gold with white head. Nose of soft coriander, wet salty wheat malt, vanilla, lemon, and faint banana. Flavor is salty wheat, light banana, clove, vanilla, and a decent lemon finish. Ample springy carbonation. Simple, but well done.

Bottle: Pours clear, light, bubbly gold with a tall white head. Lemon polish aroma, grain malt. Taste is a nice blend of orange, lemon....and rather heavy-handed cloves. Pretty good, but the spicing takes away some of the citric brightness.

12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Golden yellow and cloudy with a dissipating white head. Lemon, orange peel, spicy hops, wheat malts, Belgian yeast, fruity esters and herbs. Light to medium body with a crisp, carbonated feel and a lightly tart, refreshing finish.

This beer is definitely light and refreshing. Just enough wheat and clove essence, and a touch of spices, make this a well-toned and authentic witbier.

Taste: Oranges, fresh grains, spicy, peppery, hint of fresh lemon zest, sweet, dry slightly bitter and refreshing. Feel: Light body, poppy carbonation. Overall: I found my next Summer’s ale. This is indeed is a well crafted Witbier, The flavor profile is robust and makes itself known. The light body and citrus notes make this beer very easy to consume. Flavorful and refreshing, this brew is recommended.
