COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ommegang Witte, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale with whispers of sweet orange and a touch of tart lemon. Soft and seductive, Ommegang Witte is this summer's version of spicy intrigue and refreshing flavor.

UPDATED: AUG 9, 2008 First pour from the larger-size corked bottle was a weak, clear yellow, however upon last pour it became a cloudy honey colour topped with a fluffy white head. Some lacing, but I was expecting more. Taste is typical Belgian White, with some citrus, but there’s a sour hint in there. Like some other reviewers noted, a bit watery. Decent, but not exceptional like some of the other Ommegang brews.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2008 Pours a light straw color with a nice, but quickly disappearing, head. The nose is all citrus with a definite lemon twang. Flavor is nice with definite orange peel. Kind of lacking a little overall. I mean not bad, but not the best.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2008 Cloudy, bright yellow in color. Great head, great smell - you can really taste the orange peel. Light body and very smooth. Great summer beer!

3/11/08 notes: from bottle at Brewery tasting. Medium carbonation, decent sized white head and light golden color. I could taste some coriander and orange-fruit, but everything was a little too muted. Finishes dry and a bit empty. Solid beer, but would not buy a whole 750 ml bottle!

Bottle: Small head for a witbier, but typical hazy orange color. Smell of some dried fruit. Taste is spicy and tart. Lemon zest in there as well. Low carbonation on this one. Over all not my favorite witbier but not bad.

Good, fluffy snowwhite head over greenish-yellow hazy beer. Fleeting aroma as of ink, then the coriander and citrus-like notes take over. Predictable. Rather oppressive coriander & citrus, but with a little wry, nearly bitterish finish. Very perfumed and spicy, but not long-lasting. Rather tittilating MF, but not overly refreshing for a wit. Wheat slickness. Ubiquitous wit. Thanks to the many links that brought the beer to faraway Tolvanpluto

Pours fairly clear gold with a big frothy head. Aroma primarilly of spice and wheat, with slight notes of citrus and funk. Spice dominates the flavor too, and it finishes clean, like a pislener. Very odd witte. No banana or funk notes in the taste. Tastes more liike Hefeweizen. Not a bad beer, just an odd one form a brewery that usually hits its style.

Bright, only a little cloudy yellow beer, pours mostly foam and settles down to none shortly. Lemon, other citrus, and yeast aroma. Flavor is dominated by corriander, other spices, and yeast. Mouthfeel is freshing and carbonated to just the right degree. Finish is slightly dry and pardons another sip.
