charcot25 (180), Cordova, Tennessee, USA Apr 10, 2008 Decent witbiere. Has a startlingly clear appearance with slight white head. Bready, yeasty aroma. A very light fruitiness in the palate but mostly phenolic. Finishes slightly tart. Very carbonated.
BMan1113VR (669), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Jul 25, 2008 Pours with a large tight white head that leaves good lacing covering a vibrant, chill hazed yellow body. Aroma of wheat, coriander and a slight bit of sweet orange peel. Taste is spicey, with classic Ommegang yeast characteristics. Watery mouthfeel with light bubbles. twitcher (121), framingham, Massachusetts, USA Jul 19, 2008 bottle. Pours a crisp clear yellow, half inch of fizzy, chunky foam that clears pretty quick. Aromas of sweet wheat muffins and some light citric sharpness. Flavor starts with some lemon citrus sharpness, moves into a nice blend of yeasty spiciness and grainy wheat maltiness. Nice balance. Very crisp and light on the palate, very smooth finish. sja14 (48), Ohio, USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours a cloudy golden with a nice white head. Crisp and lighter body with smooth fruity flavor and nice refreshing finish. Chipper (30), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 18, 2008 Pours a cloudy lemon with a thick white head. Lot’s of lemon and bread aroma. Nice and light, not too sweet and very drinkable. theisti (986), Leawood, Kansas, USA Jul 14, 2008 750 ml bottle purchased at Specs Liquors in Houston, TX. Pour is hazed golden with a two inch snow white head. A bunch of carbonation bubbles rise to the top of the glass. Aroma of citrus lemon and earthy funky yeastiness. Really engaging nose, soft, yet very complex. Taste is the sweet lemon and orange citrus. Wheat texture takes over in the middle. Finish is the spicy funky yeastiness. Nice transition of flavors. Palate seemed more like a Saison than a Wit, but really worked for this beer. Aftertaste lingers with a bit of sour lemon peel. Nice one.
