At the Red Lion. For a style I’m not very fond of I quite enjoyed this. Most important not watery and no soapy flavor. Nice, not too sour, lemon flavor that was a bit unusual. Serving: Bottle

Ommegang Witte pours out a bright hazy yellow with a thick two finger white, frothy head. A nicely carbonated body with some cloudy yeast in the body. The nose is floral and citric with a light yeast and some mild sweetness. The middle has a sweet, wheaty malt with a tart lemon and yeast esters. The finish has a bit of a light grassy hop and a yeast presence including the tart citrus fruit. A bit of the tartness is tasting kind of like light barnyard funk. The mouthfeel is smooth and softly carbonated with a medium body. Overall, a pretty good wit.

M: Light bodied... refreshing. invigorating..
O: Refreshing for sure... nothing fancy here, just a solid witbier... spring is almost here... stock up on your witbiers!!

Hazy yellow. Nice spice aroma but not too overpowering. Tastes a bit skewed- the student flavors not quite blending. Hard mouthfeel.

12oz bottle - pours clear pale yellow with quickly diminishing head and no lacing. Nose yeast and corn/cardboard. Aroma is citrus fruit, wheat and that pilsner hop. Taste is sweet and tart. Incredibly light and burp-y. Hands down, my least favorite Ommegang beer and I love Ommegang. I now know why I’ve put off trying this beer for so long - don’t like the style.
