COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ommegang Witte, a traditional Belgian-style wheat ale with whispers of sweet orange and a touch of tart lemon. Soft and seductive.

Notes of cereal, citrus, floral, and bubblegum in the aroma. Pale gold in color and clear, I poured carefully to avoid disturbing the yeast sediment as suggested on the label. The rocky white head dissipated quickly, but was initially resplendent. Light sweetness followed by light bitterness on the finish, this is a very easy drinking ale. The body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is lively, and finish is abrupt without being rude. Overall this is a very pleasant session type ale that could be savored as well.

Another single from total wine and from the most ratings and available to me list as well. More on the fruity side of the equation. Not as much spice or yeast but the fruit is nice.

From a 12 oz. bottle: Poured slightly cloudy straw with a sturdy meringue-like head. Aromas of bread, funk and citrus. Flavors are bready wheat and orange citrus with a good coriander bite on the finish. This is one of my favorite styles when well-crafted, which this one certainly is.

Tap at yard house. Light gold with white head and thick white head and lacing. Banana and citrus nose, lots of banana. Really nice wheat beer taste without the yeast funk. Crisp.

Nice Wit. Phenolic clove and minimal banana. Yeasty in moderation, nice pAlate and carbonation. Some bandaid but not too bad with that. Refreshing.

Aroma of clove, banana, and Belgian yeast. Cloudy gold color, not much head. A taste of clove and banana with a watery feel and a banana finish.

Overall a quite nice witte. Pours a very cloudy yellow with a white head. Smells of lemon and wheat. Taste is very well balanced, with lots of wheat and lemon. Had on tap at Tiburon Taps Beer Festival.

Pours a hazy hay, strongly carbonated with a large, lumpy and fast-dissolving foam head. Strong and pleasant yeast aroma. Bright and fruity yeast taste on a very fizzy palate. Light yeast aftertaste with a lightly sticky mouthfeel.

Bottle received in trade from the cold, crooked fingers of Helsdon -- thanks man! -- at the Toronto Ratebeer Throwdown of Summer ’14 pours watery lemon with a slight suggestion of foam on top. Helsdon kept assuring me that this brew wasn’t that good & I’m not so sure as it is a pretty level headed interpretation of the style. I get lemon, a spritz of orange, a watery version of the banana Popsicles I used to eat in the ’80’s & a strong bite of carbonation. Enjoyable.
