ChrisO’s Pre GBBF ’Are You Scottish?’ tasting. Opaque dark brown - black beer. Good tan head. Softish palate. Semi dry. Mild minerals. Tangy dark malts and dark fruits. Light smoke and spice. Touch of dark chocolate. Light dry finish. Tasty. Lacks the sumptuous vibe of the very best.

Bottle. Pours black with a small espresso coloured head. Aroma is soft, nothing takes overhand. Roasted malt, smooth coffee, vanilla, sweet notes. Taste is sweet with coffee, vanilla, cream, roasted malt, dark chocolate and then some more coffee as well as slight syrup, dates and a slight heat at the end. Full bodied, low carbonation, a bit to low for my taste. Smooth mouth feel and a dry roasted bitter after taste.
Reminded me quite a lot of Black Hole, but with more roast.

Bottle@Home Apperance: Black with a very dark, brown, head. Aroma: Chocolate, Licorice, Coffee. Taste: Chocolate, Coffee, Licorice, Smoke and salty soysauce. Palate: Thick and overpowering. Light carbonation. Where is the maple-syrup in this? I think this stout would have been alot better if it was aged on maply-syrup-barrels than just adding it at the brewing. My first disappointing brew from Omnipollo.

Doften är kaffe, lakrits och aningen parfym. Smaken är tung med inslag av kaffe, mörk choklad och små inslag av salt, även en viss beska. En helt okay öl!

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013. It pours opaque black with a medium tan head. The nose is rich-roasted malt, coffee, earth, mild acidity, milk chocolate, meat and light smoke. The taste is oily, roasted malt, earth, coffee, dark fruit, fudge, chocolate, mild acidity, maple syrup and liquorice with a warming finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Big, oily and bold stuff. Pretty flavoursome, but a tough to drink much of...

Chocolately aroma with some hints of wood in the background. The taste is some dark chocolate, hints of wood and some coffee in the background. Disappointed, had expected more.

Bottle 65 cl from Systembolaget. Black with brown very nice head. Brown sugar, chocolate, coffee, roast!, burnt components, syrup. Full body, thick, smooth, light carbonation. Well hidden alcohol, a bit of warmness. Very nice!

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2013 65 cl bottle at systembolaget. Fantastic appearance really dark, "Total djävla mörker" as we say in Sweden. The aroma is nice and give hints of chocolate and coffe, it is however too subtle. The mouthfeel is really nice, really thick and good carbonation levels. Pretty much alcohol warmth. Really nice taste with lots of coffe, dark chocolate and some sweetness. Conclusion: An almost perfect imperial stout. Its only downside is the aroma, which is nice but should be more powerful

Pours a rich thick burnt umber... lots of khaki foam. Lots of chocolate and coffee notes with traces of prune, licorice and sea salt caramel. Bitterness in the finish opens into some maple notes. A very enjoyable beer but a bit $$.
