3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Can’t see a date, but presumably ancient bottle. But you never know with brett.. Orangey brown with a white head that fades to a coat. Couldn’t avoid the chunks. Strong lemony aroma with some lime leaf, twigs, underripe passionfruit, green mango. A bit earthy and a touch of boot polish. Vaguely slippery, has some body. Moderate carbonation. Fruity (tropical, citrus) with some caramelised grain. Dry at the end with more funk than zip from the brett. and gentle spices. Interesting.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cage and a synthetic cork. Pours a darkish golden with lots of clumpy sediment. Straight out of the bottle you can smell really fruity bubblegum, and lots of it. That bubblegum gives way to a very breakfast juice sort of nose (orange, banana, mango, pineapple), but also some sultana and plum pudding notes. Flavor is more fruit juice, some spiciness on the mid palate, transitioning to almost acrid almost smokey bitterness on the late palate through to a dry, slightly funky finish. Medium body, slightly oily mouthfeel. Really bizarre beer, not sure if I love it. It’s delicious and juicy and fruity until the late palate where the weird bitterness kicks in. Not sure I would really class it as a saison, it’s sort of more just an amber farmhouse ale. Weird and kind of wonderful, but rough around the edges.

Dracks på Omnipollos hatt Södermalm igår. Inte någon av de bättre från omnipollo, men helt ok. Smakade bättre än den såg ut.

2.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2015 Corked and caged 375ml bottle with unfortunately no bottled or best before date. Poured into a Duvel tulip glass. The beer poured a very hazy burnt orange colour with quite a bit of yeast sediment with a half finger white head. Normally I’m ok with sediment but for some reason, this time it didn’t look too good. Given its appearance, its aromas became more important to me in determining whether something was wrong. But actually it smelled quite good. A strong whiff of citrus sour lemon mixed with some barnyard brett. However its taste left something to be desired as it was mainly acidic sour citrus lime, lemon, orange and bitter pine. It started out ok but the aftertaste was not. Thin to medium bodied, but well carbonated almost like soda water. Also left a dry finish. I normally enjoy saisons, but I just did not get this at all. I wish there was at least a bottled or best before date on the bottle to indicate its freshness, but there was none. I also saw no indication of anything wrong with it and its aroma seemed fine, so I can only say that tastewise this particular brew from Omnipollo was just not for me.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Aged bottle from Cask P & K. Big globs of sediment. Muddy burnt orange. Big boozy hop funk with plenty Brett too. Vinous, some malt. Big fruity vegetal hop hit in the taste, again plenty farmhouse character. Some sweetness giving way to medium linger bitterness. Outstanding kit.
