Color negro intenso, espuma beige densa.

Very dark color with brown head that stays a while. Looks really nice. Smell is dominated by rich, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Maybe a bit of smokiness. Huge roasted flavor, no sweetness at all. Aftertaste is pretty bitter. Body seems medium, a bit too thin for this style. Decent carbonation. Overall a really nice, easy drinking imperial stout. At 10% ABV, the alcohol is very well hidden. If the body would be just a little thicker...

Bottle. A big, tan head forms over an almost black body. The aroma has coffee, chocolate, oatmeal and some faint alcohol notes. Lots of coffee in the flavor, with the same chocolate and oatmeal found in the aroma. The alcohol gives some warmth, but overall it bears the ABV pretty well. Nice carbonation level, full body. The finish is of the lasting kind, with a tad too much bitterness. Anyway, it’s sure a nice beer, and I wouldn’t mind having more of it. 140307

Bottle @All My Vinyl Tasting, Edinburgh. Pours black with a tan head. Wow what a nose, toffee and licorice in equal measure. Slightly nutty on the first taste then caramel maltyness comes through then a woody finish. Wow, really nice.

0.33l bottle. It’s quite dark this one, as good as black looking in the glass and it has a really good looking big dark brown colored head with her great retention. Not much to put to finger on when it comes to the looks, and it smells really nice as well. There is something light smoky here. As is darkbitter chocolate and a good amount of generic roastiness. I can see now from the bottle that this contains a good amount of smoked malts, and that really present in the aroma! There is also a little bit of coffee to be found. It has a nice big oily mouthfeel this and the carbonation level is just about average. Loaded with smoky deliciousness. Not the sweet beefy kind, but more rocky campfire and a little bit of licorice box. Also lots of chocolate flavors here! All that, but it manages to keep itself from being over the top. I actually tastes quite balanced and harmonic. Light mouthdrying finish with a little bit of both wood and alcohol. Yeah, quite a good one! 06.11.2013

Bottle at home. Pours jet black with a lingering thin tan head. Rich aromas of toffee and leather, some coffee and chocolate too, liquorice and soy at the back. A lot going on. Taste doesn’t disappoint, bringing wood notes and caramel sweetness. Long bitter roasty finish. Very nice.
