Omnipollo Fatamorgana (8%). Drawing inspiration from the fidelity of a saison - rustic, alluringly cloudy and crisp - this double IPA was brewed using oats and wheat. Dry-hopped twice and completely untouched post fermentation to preserve aroma and flavor.

Teku glass. Bottle. Cloudy golden with two/three finger white head. Good lacing. Aroma is excellent - lots of citurs (lemon, orange and definetely grapefruit). The taste is not as intense as flavour, fruity palate with citrus (mainly grapefruit), peach, grapes. Also some bread, cake notes along with straw flavoursMedium bitterness balanced by malts (sweetness). Medium body, thick, dry, medium carbonation. Finish is bitter and long. Definetely one of the best DIPA I’ve ever tried. Very aromatic, drinkable and thick. But too pricey.

Bottle from SB, opened at christmas party at work. Pours about two fingers of head. Aroma: very much citrus, orange and lemon. Taste: bitter, classic IPA taste. A very good beer, although not the best IPA ever!

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Cloudy golden, coarse head. Concentrated perfumy citrus and pine. Dryish with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Resiny and zesty, grapefruit and pine. Long inky saccharine bitterness. Lovely aroma, but out of balance.

22oz bottle - Aroma - big citrusy aroma, full of grapefruit and orange/lemon combo. Malts are there, kept in check but caramel is present. Appearance - golden yellow body, some haze to it, 4-finger head, above average retention and excellent lacing. Mouthfeel - medium carbonation, full mouthfeel Flavor - fruity palate, peaches and green grapes, medium bitterness, but nicely balanced by the sweetness. Finish is long and bitter. Overall - it’s good, but there are IPA’s available that are 1/2 the cost, and deliver a focused punch of hops. Gets knocked down a few pegs for the costs and the contents, although tasty, it doesn’t warrant a near $20 of beer.

Transfer from BA review on 2-24-14- Poured from bottle into a snifter Appearance – The beer pours a super hazy orange amber color with a nice two finger head of white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave a moderate level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma of the beer is huge of a grapefruit hop smell mixed with tons of wheat. Along with these aromas are some lighter notes of a yeasty smell bringing along with them some notes of clove and coriander. Lemon peel and a bit of bread round out the smell, overall producing a thick hoppy bread smell. Taste – The taste begins thick with tons of wheat bread tastes along with a strong yeast cake showing. Straight from the start there is a big hit of a grapefruit hop. The grapefruit really picks it up as the taste moves on with it becoming more and more bitter. All the while the grapefruit picks up a light pine companion, helping bring a bit of more resinous hop flavor to the brew. Throughout the taste some lighter spice flavors develop on the tongue with the wheat growing even more potent and a bit grainier. In the end, with all the flavor transitions that occur, one is left with a thick and wheaty rather heavily grapefruit bitter taste to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is on the average side. The thickness is quite nice for all the wheaty flavors of the brew with the moderate carbonation rather nice for balancing the brew and hop, all the while keeping it quite drinkable. Overall the feel was well done. Overall – A nice thick and chewy wheat IPA overall. While not quite worth the price it was well worth a try.
