Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing.

Dark Yellow/ light amber color but a bit hazy, suprisingly big head, but not lasting ( propably it is overcarbonated ) Aroma is full of citrus esspecially grapefruit. Hinch of sour notes and maybe a bit wet cardboard. and some kind of flowers. Taste: citrus, grapefriut zest, some esters and strange notes propably from belgian yeast. Bitter finish with sweet flower notes. It is not overcarbonated, but medium with semi dry / dry flat body with nice and smooth malt base. Refreshing and drinkable with very nice and lasting resin bitterness.

750ml bottle, BBE 06/11/15. Pours amber with a stylish, yellowish-brown head. Aroma is peach, fruity, some citrus, caramel. Taste is semi-dry, caramel, peach, citrus, some pine. Fairly full, low carbonation. You can definitely taste that it would be great fresh.

Bottle. Hazy gold with a white head that lasts well. Aroma is floral with lemon and orange drops, light grains, somehow powdery. Light bodied, high carbonation. A little slick? Fruity and vaguely grapey with a fair bit of bitterness that’s a little harsh and unpleasantly peppery at the end. Interesting but disjointed.
