Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing.

Pours thicker golden with a gigantic creamy head at least 4 fingers. The aroma brings delicious banana like esters and some sweet yeast. The body is carbonated just right, not overbearing from the champagne yeast where it is too much in the mouth. The Belgian yeast brings clean fruity notes that end not crisp, but smoothly and slowly and clean.

Hazy gold beer, big white head. Smooth palate. Belgian style seltzer minerals. Semi sweet tripel like malts. A little pink grapefruit and citrus. Light pale malt buried underneath. Crispy and semi dry finish. Good stuff!
