COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Fit for beer geeks and party freaks alike, Leon is whole-cone hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops (Amarillo & Simcoe) in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing. Drink it chilled out of a wine glass or just straight out of the bottle.

Pour was straw to golden yellow. Aroma of lemon, grass, earthiness. Flavor followed with a good hop presence over top of the grainy malts and other mentioned aromas and herbaciousness. Mouthfeel was only moderate in body with equal carbonation. A nice drinkable brew, probably a bit dangerous at 6.5%, as it drank pretty light and tasty.

On tap taste at Friscoe Grille & Taproom in Columbia, MD. Clear yellow with small white head and very good lacing. Aroma of lemon and yeast. Taste of citrus, yeast, funk, and grass. Light/medium body and carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

I ussed to think that the craft beer market had room only for one Mikkeller type brewery. With the advent of Evil Twin, Stillwater, To Øl,... & more recently Omnipollo I have been proven quite wrong. Thx! to Antoine for the share. 33 cl. bottle, beautiful design. Brewed at De Proef as everything else – seriously how many beers does that guy make now. Bright golden amber with a big white head. Smell carries lots of citrus, very hoppy, USA fare, orange pulp, zest, fruity,… Taste is light citrus, fruity sweet, touch grass, light yeatiness, touch bitter hay, lemon, med. Bitter finish. Light & fluffy. Nice one but Belgian Ale?

On tap at Brasserie - Pours golden with a small foamy white head. Nose is mellow dank hops with a fruity malt base. Taste is the same...tropical fruity malt with a lightly grassy hop finish. Smooth and creamy body with a pretty full mouthfeel.

Clear golden with bright white fizzy ring of head. Smells of sweet honey and hint of orange oil. Feels very carbonated and foamy on the tongue. Taste is very subtle, but there is some harsh astringency on the back of the palate that gets scrubbed away by the carbonation. This beer seems to have more texture and feel than it does flavor. As it warms I get hints of chamomile tea with honey on the nose, still no distinct flavor, but I might say mildly herbal and malty (but almost completely dry).
