COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Fit for beer geeks and party freaks alike, Leon is whole-cone hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops (Amarillo & Simcoe) in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing. Drink it chilled out of a wine glass or just straight out of the bottle.

Draft. Pretty, dusky gold in the glass with a fine, dense white head. Lots of yeasty aromas. Simcoe hops are an elegant addition here, and they lend more of an unctuous hop flavor. Really good, champagne-like beer. All about the great yeast.

Aroma is VERY strong, sharp, fruity and yeasty. Pours a nice clear solar yellow with a fairly thick white head that leaves some good lacing. Sharp, yeasty, fruity flavor leaves an edgy, hoppy, rather bitter finish. Texture has good fizz, if not a lot of body. OK, not a great Belgian, but palatable. Gotta love the bottle.

6oz pour at Paradiso Georgetown. Pours a clear orange with some frothy white head. Nose is musty, piney, soap, some citrus rind, a little lemon zest. Flavor is mildly sweet, lightly bitter, light.grapefruit, grass, some lemon, biscuit. Medium, dry finish. Super drinkable.

Bottle from Beer Revolution. Pours hazy gold with a 3 finger fizzy/creamy white head. Aroma is very fresh and fruity. Gotta be the hop. Med + body. Flavor is pungent citrus, seems orange, with some light pitted fruit. Finishes very hoppy with some slight earth and possibly a hint of banana ester. Very tasty.

Draught at Beer Trappe. Tart apple with some yeasty (slightly) flavor. Somewhat hoppy. Very interesting take on style.

Extremely basic beer. Sweet grain smell. Flavor has just a touch of hops, mostly sweet and grainy.

UPDATED: APR 17, 2013 On tap @Lúpulo Feroz. Tart and earthy, yeasty aromas. pours hazy pale gold, with vanishing frothy white head, poor lacing. Light to medium body, crispy texture, medium to high carbonation.. Taste begins so yeasty, sweet, developing sour flavours very quickly. Aftertaste is dry and bitter. Not my cup of tea.

Gyllengul lätt disig öl med vitt skum. Doft av jäst och en blommig humledoft. Detta återkommer i smaken tillsammans med en ton av citron. Ganska torr ed en lätt efterbeska.

Bottle. Amber beer with a big off-white head. Summer fruit and yeast aroma. Yeast and spice flavor with summer fruit. Medium bodied. Spice and yeast linger with summer fruit and light malt. Nicely done.
