Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing.

Flaska systembolaget. 65 cl. Gyllengul smått disig vätska. Stort skum. Fruktig doft med gräs, stall och parfym. Smaken är humlefräsch åt det fruktiga hållet med läder, stall och vitt vin. Välkolsyrad och fint torr munkänsla

Bottle. Golden, little hasy with big semi-densed white head. Good lacing. Perfect head retention. Aroma is fruity, grassy, citrus with touch of belgian yeast. Alos some spices (pepper) are noticable. Taste at first is ligh bitter, but after a while it turns into medium/strong bitter. Very fruity with some biscuit and grainy notes, but still belgian yeasty character is noticable. Dry, watery, ligh to medium body, medium carbonation, fresh and crisp palate. Finish is dry and semi-bitter (hoppy). Good, refreshing beer with nice belgian notes.

Strong Belgian cream flavors in the front with slightly more potent-than-Belgian-average hops. Very nice, particularly if you think Belgian beers are too sweet.

Aroma is fruity and spicy with a touch of yeast. The taste is grainy malts, a little sweet and fizzy. Citrus and honey dance around on your tongue for a while and then leaves you with a semi-dry feeling. Not bad at all, but it’s not a favorite style

Very thin smell with slight ’Belgian’ notes. Insanely funky carbonation. Fruity notes and refreshing character.

Draught at Ølhus Kobenhavn. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, earthy notes, yeast, mango, resin and pine. Bitter finish with citrus, hops, mango and pine. Excellent pale ale.

Guest tap at Kaisla, Helsinki. Pours cloudy amber with a little white head. The aroma displays strong fruity hoppiness with a solid Belgian yeast twist; citrus fruits, apple and spices combine delightfully. Taste is medium bitter, very crisp and fruity. Hoppines is strong but does not overshadow Belgian yeasty spiciness: the resulting taste is both rich and varied, yet drinkable. The palate is medium bodied, the texture slick and the carbonation average. Very refreshing and interesting to drink.

Pour hazy amber, with a small white head. Aroma is slightly fruity, with a heavy dose of grassy hops. Taste is lightly bitter, with some fruity sweetness to it. Watery body, with a lightly fizzy carbonation.
