Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing.

Bottle. Cloudy golden apricot color with a high white head that leaves som lacing behind. The aroma is fruity and yeasty with notes of apricot, caramel and some small hints of hay and banana. The taste is a little sweet with some citrusy notes, yeast, spicies and a dash of banana. Mild aftertaste with hints of american hops. Dry. In total a very drinkable session like blonde ale.

Bottle: Pours hazy yellow, with a thick, tall, white head. Yeasty, lemony aroma. Taste is crisp, but bold, lemon/citrus, yeast.... A nice grassy bitter.... Really big flavour...a good one.

Pours golden with too much head. The aroma is sweet honey, cloves and belgian yeast. A smooth beer with a little wheaty taste to it but not overpowering and some bitterness. An enjoyable if not spectacular beer.

Flaske 750ml drukket på Rundvannet 23 Jun 15. Gyldenbrungul. Litt uklar. Høyt luftig skum som daler sakte. God ferskenaroma. Litt lacing. Smaken balansert. Frukt & krydder med ettersmak av ananas & fersken. Gjørmete siste kvelling.

Pours a great looking golden color, with a decent head, soon collapsing to a thin layer of lacing. Smells of a pungent, noble grassiness, with just a tiny spice hint to it. That spicy note is enough though, to open up the nose to the beers smooth yeast qualities, creating a nice flowery depth by blending into herbal hops, which maintain supremacy. Has a yeast smoothed medium carbonation, with a refreshing mouthfeel to it, due to the well noteable, pleasant hop quality. Tastes of a stony minerality, resulting from the effervescent carbonation, which remains noteable from the beginning till the end, softened by the emerging, dough yeast. Well entangled into the beers yeast character, herbal hops add a pleasant dryness to the taste, developing into an interesting counterpart to the perfectly dispensed spice quality of the yeast. During the finish, dryness evolves, including even more grass, showcasing the brews pale ale qualities, while yeast and white bread malts act as a smooth, balancing foundation. This creates an intriguing interplay between the hops and a mineralic aqueous quality, resulting in a tickling dryness, while yeast adds a smooth, spicy softness, without overpowering the hop impression.

Look; pop n smoke, off white head, hazy dark amber body, thick lacing. Aroma; fruity, pine forest, citric peels, mild roasted malts. Taste; hops, bitter, citric peels, but also a good fruitiness with forest berries balancing it all and leading to a malty hoppy finish. Feels fresh n good. Overall; tasty fruity fresh. Also my beautiful wife liked it. [75cl corked bottle, abv6.5%, B@Systembolaget]

Some funk yeast, in the aroma.. Nice clear golden beer. A typical Belgian taste, very well balanced and refreshing beer, easy to drink. Dry and not oily mouth feel .. Time for another sip

Almost perfect. Yeast just takes the edge of the sharpness which I normally go for but everything else is there in spades, taste, aroma, fizz. A keeper.
