COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Fit for beer geeks and party freaks alike, Leon is whole-cone hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops (Amarillo & Simcoe) in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing. Drink it chilled out of a wine glass or just straight out of the bottle.

On tap. Aroma fresh and nice, malt, yeast and some fruit notes. Taste is very pleasant, malty and sweet without being too sweet, some fruit notes.

I ussed to think that the craft beer market had room only for one Mikkeller type brewery. With the advent of Evil Twin, Stillwater, To Øl,... & more recently Omnipollo I have been proven quite wrong. Thx! to Antoine for the share. 33 cl. bottle, beautiful design. Brewed at De Proef as everything else – seriously how many beers does that guy make now. Bright golden amber with a big white head. Smell carries lots of citrus, very hoppy, USA fare, orange pulp, zest, fruity,… Taste is light citrus, fruity sweet, touch grass, light yeatiness, touch bitter hay, lemon, med. Bitter finish. Light & fluffy. Nice one but Belgian Ale?

Had this puppy on tap at the Delirium Hoppy Loft alongside my friend sebletitje. This Leon poured with a gold to pale gold body supporting a creamy near white head of foam. The aroma offers up cantaloupe flavored cotton candy, mango and thin slices of sour lime. The taste is both rich and crisp as well as being invitingly sessionable with a mix of mango and refreshing sour lime like citrus hoppiness followed by smooth sweet cantaloupe. These notes go so well together and are really hitting the spot right now. Since Seb and I had been sharing with the staff they offered us one on the house as our last one. I happily selected this one and it tasted as crisp and clean and rich as the first one. Thanks guys!!

Fad> Orangegul diset ’l med et l;kkert hvidt skumhoved. Duften er humlet med masser af sorachi. Smagen er afbalanceret igen med masser af sorachi og klart belgisk g;r. Virkelig en l;kker ’l.

On tap at Brasserie - Pours golden with a small foamy white head. Nose is mellow dank hops with a fruity malt base. Taste is the same...tropical fruity malt with a lightly grassy hop finish. Smooth and creamy body with a pretty full mouthfeel.

A - Slightly hazy golden-orange with a big finger of frothy white head. Fades fairly slowly. T - Sweet caramel and grainy malts, grapefruit, citrus, and light floral hops, some bitterness, Belgian yeast, coriander, pepper, lemon zest, and some other spices. M - Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Smooth with a spicy, sweet, and estery finish. D - Pretty good BPA. Well balanced.

330. Pours a hazy medium gold with burnished edges. Big frothy white head. Smells like dank, with a mix of light lemony white wine notes and some bright grapefruit peel and maybe some coriander. Creamy medium body with bright, active carb. Lemons, dank, and spice on the mid palate. Crisp peppery finish. Very enjoyable and drinkable, and another extremely cool label from these guys.

Very different bpa. Taste resembles a pilsner. Must be the champagne yeast. crisp and refreshing, seems lighter than 6.5 abv. Pleasant lingering finish like a geisha coffee.
