COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading “out” - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing.

Clear golden with bright white fizzy ring of head. Smells of sweet honey and hint of orange oil. Feels very carbonated and foamy on the tongue. Taste is very subtle, but there is some harsh astringency on the back of the palate that gets scrubbed away by the carbonation. This beer seems to have more texture and feel than it does flavor. As it warms I get hints of chamomile tea with honey on the nose, still no distinct flavor, but I might say mildly herbal and malty (but almost completely dry).

Bottle from Saveur-Biere.com @ home. Color: hazy blond beer with medium carbonation and high light white foam. Smell: hoppy and spices nose with malt presence, and yeast. Taste: good high malt taste with yeast presence. Good bitterness. Aftertaste: nice bitterness and good equilibrium of malt. Great beer by the style, you should taste it.

Bottle. Clear orange body, large white head. Nose is citric peel, oranges, lemon tones, hints of perfume, red fruits and candi sugars. Taste is red fruits, strong citrus tones, pale malts, wheat and hints of bready yeast and herbs. Medium, slick body, medium to high carbonation. Pretty nice saison.

This is a great beer. Just a little sweet and not too strong. And for the price I'm going back for more.

Fresh aroma, lightly funky, witbier yeast(?), greenish classic hops, pale malts. Perhaps some oat. Very Belgian mouth feel, heavy foamy body, but I don’t mind. It does harden the bitterness perhaps, but that’s a nice change from a more classic Belgian blond and the classic hops do well. I bet you can’t drink too many of these, due to the heavy carbonation, but I do enjoy this style mix. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

(Bottle). Tangy aroma of citrus and yeast. Very sour taste with flavors of citrus, spices and yeast. Pungent sour taste, but still quite balanced. A beer that was first perceived as very pungent and unbalanced but then developed in possitiv direction in flavor. Give it some time and it grows!

Keg at CASC. It pours cloudy golden with a thick white head. The nose is earthy, doughy, sponge cake, orange peel, light spice and tangerine. The taste is crisp, bitter, sponge cake, orange peel, spice, earth, pepper and soap with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent hoppy Belgian action.

Bottled. Pours cloudy copper with a huge white head. Smells fruity hoppy, flowery, parfume. Tastes clear bitter, flowery grassy hoppy with a clear bitter finish.
