Mazarin is my take on a “thinker’s beer”. Rather than being big and undecipherably complex I wanted to create something that would calm a hop yearning nerve without fuddling the brain too much. In other words, a lavishly hopped ale of judicious ABV — an Extra Special Pale Ale if you will.
In fact, so extra special that it snatched a gold medal at the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival 2013.

Bottled. Golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with mild grass and some slight parfumed soap as well. Flavour is fruity, floral, some slight resiny notes along with a nice caramel and bready maltiness. Long tropical fruity aftertaste.

Mazarin and fruity aroma. The taste is fruity, Mazarin, slightly flowery. Fine bitterness that fills the mouth for a long while. Looked on the cap to the beer went out 8 months ago. Okay beer but not much more. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

330 ml bottle from Systembolaget Passagen, Stockholm.
Pale yellow, cloudy body, with a big, stable, frothy, white head.
Fresh aroma of grapefruit, apricot, orange, lemon zest, oat, some candy.
Taste follows this pretty much, with some more spices, more bitterness and dryness.
Medium, oily mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes pretty bitter, dry, zesty, spicy.

Really interesting! Very fresh, bitter fruity, quite dry. Feels a bit Belgian. Drinks very easy. Overall a great, unique Pale Ale, with a lot of character!

Aroma has orange peel, resin and bready malts. Pours hazy gold with small head that leaves some lacing. Taste has nice bitter orange peel flavour and some oats. Light sweetness compensates beautifully. Medium body, average carbonation. Long extremely bitter finish. Overall an excellent beer.

Light carbonation with light oily taste and some bitterness. Very dry in the aftertaste. Already sweetish notes. Very balanced beer

Backlog rating. Keg at CPK, London. It pours a clean golden color with a medium white head. Aroma is hop forward on the fruity side, with pineapple and citrus. Taste is similarly fruity but not overly bitter. Grapefruit and peaches with a touch of acidic note in the finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Nice pale ale.
